Hey guys I went out to start my car and it wont turn over, I get a tick tick tick sound from the engine. But weirdly my Trip Odometer reset itself along with my clock, and the windows jitter like they want to go down. Im have no clue what this could be. Do you guys thinks its a battery? Do the lights and radio work? If so, the battery is probably OK. Maybe an ignition switch or starter issue? From your post it sounds like the engine isn't turning over at all. Can you check for codes?

What year is your 996? I disconnected my battery for 2 days on my 1999 while I replaced the window regulator. All I had to do when I reconnected was reset my clock. I've disconnected several times w/no issue. I think you just have to make sure the car is turned off and the key out of the ignition. Do a search on batteries. Tim suggested a $80 battery from Advance or Autozone that worked fine for him.

Thanks Pat. I will do a search on Batteries to see if anything other then this thread shows up. I thought that taking the battery out messed up the sterio. My C2 is a 2001. Paul
