Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

FWIW, my PSE had to be replaced under warranty for faulty internals.
Leading evidence: 'Replace under warranty' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'valve assembly' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend procedure' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
The insides of the mufflers were not holding up, and it was likely the valve assembly.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just picked up a set of PSE's (private party). It sounds like a few pieces of gravel or something rolling around inside that I can't shake out. Does anybody have an exploded view of the mufflers so I can get a better idea of how to go about getting it out. It doesn't sound metallic.
Thanks,
Tom
Tom - If something is in there .... short of attaching one end of a cable to your tow hook and another to a large crane, you are going to have to remove the mufflers to (hopefully) solve this problem. :-)
PS - if you go to the 'mufflers exposed section of the

Others have had the same problem. I hope that this is not the case with your mufflers...
what is a pse, pss9 a ppi etc?? there are so many abbr. here i havent had (my c2, or p car as ive read) long enough to ever had all these things written out. thanks
The valves are the achilles heel of the Porsche Sports Exhaust, IMO of course, they are bound to rattle eventually. As RJ noted, others (myself included) have problems with rattles , in fact I am waiting for a warranty replacement set myself. When parts warranty runs out and it starts to rattle again I will just have someone wack the valves out and weld in some tubing. Or sell them...
