Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

to see the beams self adjust, turn the car to FULL OFF, turn the lights on, then turn the car to POWER on, without igniting the engine, the lights should do a little dance.

The Porsche bi-xenons use the same bulb for low and high beams--there's a reflector that changes the height of the light beam.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

in my e55 they have bi-xenons, a separate hi and low. it appears my c2 adjusts its low to hi using the same xenon bulb. is this the case? if you dont get bi-xenons on mb cars you get a halogen hi-beam. i cant really tell, i bought it used. any help is appreciated.

POST 2Original post

I don't know of any cars with seperate xenon high beams, they are all halogen. What makes Porsche's xenons "bi" is their ability to redirect the xenon low beam upwards to assist the halogen high beams. At least that's what I think...I really never noticed that my own "bi-xenons" actually do this.

POST 3Original post

I have a question about the self-leveling feature. I've never seen it actually do anything. On my wife's new BMW 330i I can see the beams adjust to level position when I turn them on. But with the new 911 they're just on - and when I go through acceleration and decelleration I see no self adjustment going on. Is there some shipping pin or something the dealer is supposed to take out to enable them upon arrival?

POST 4Original post

to see the beams self adjust, turn the car to FULL OFF, turn the lights on, then turn the car to POWER on, without igniting the engine, the lights should do a little dance.

POST 5Original post

There is actually a shutter that raises in front of the projector lamp when you switch to hi-beam

POST 7Original post

He has a 2000. I assume with litronics. The low beam is xenon. The high is halogen.
