0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: '43-45k is reasonable good luck' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is '43-45k is reasonable good luck' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Everyone,
Thinking of selling my '99C4 to make room for something new in the spring. Car is in excellent shape, xenons, B&M SS, PSE, Fabspeed CAI, 35% tint, sideskirts, 500 miles on new Conti's (rear), balance of extended warranty to 60,000 miles or 01/20/2007. Car has never seen snow and sets in my garage w/16,800 miles on the clock.
From Edmundst:
Trade in $43,197
Private party $47,434
Dealer retail $52,236
PCA has 1 99C4 cab listed for $49,000 w/8,325 miles.
Autotrader has 1 99C4 for $48,900 w/13,400 miles.
A broader Autotrader search lists 45 1999 911's from $64,995 to $25,000 with an average price of $45,850.
I know many people feel the 996 prices are soft right now, but these prices seem quite good. I am curious to learn from someone who recently sold an early model 996 if these prices are reasonable?
Thanks,
Mike.
I just traded in my 2000 C2 with 7k miles, with Fabspeed, Chip and GT3 Aero Kit. Dealer gave me $40,000. Dealers don't use Edmunds. Galves book shows tradein on 2000 C2 with 30,000 miles as $36,000. Dealer is trying to selling for 45,000, probably will get 43,000. I hope this info will help.
i've had my '00 c2 listed for sale on 'trader, cars', local paper, ebay...etc. been trying for the last 4-mos. it's one the lowest priced '00's in the country, and way less than $40--and i still have it. what does that tell you? my guess, high-30's for a low milage '99 c4 is where you'll part with it.
I sold my 2001 C4 in July with 34K miles, $85K sticker (lots of options), and $6K in aftermarket parts for $47K. Book value was in the mid 50s. I had it on the market FOREVER in order to sell it. You'll be lucky to get in the low 40s for your car. Also, all of those little extras on it do nothing for the resale price. Basically when you buy mods, they do not add a penny to the resale value. You could be VERY lucky to find someone that wants a car just like yours, but it's unlikely.
An '02 C4S with 27K miles and a rebuilt engine because of RMS sold for 58K at Valley Motors near Baltimore, MD. The car sat on the dealer's lot all summer and was listed for $68K but didn't sell until the dealer drastically cut the price in late October. The car was modestly equipped but was not Porsche certified.
All car prices, (especially high end sports cars) are soft right now and have been soft because of the economy. The 996 is down a bit more because of the 997. I wouldn't drop the car for anything less than 40K. Once the economy picks up again(looks like were almost there), the prices should stabilize. The prices should further stabilize as the market gets less flooded with 996s whose owners are flocking to the 997. Just my opinon here.
