Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
The shorter, wider, and much smaller contact patch spec on 18" versus 17" might then be related to some aspect of alignment, I suspect more even tire wear.
Leading evidence: 'more even tire wear' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'more even tire wear' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Run about 32/34 cold' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Pressures that work best on the track where tires run hotter (more pressure gain) and never get to cool much, are not necessarily going to deliver maximum grip on the street.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I want to reduce understeer and make the car more neutral. There seems to be agreement on this board that, to reduce understeer, (1) tire pressure all around should be lower than what is recommended and (2) the front tires should have less pressure than the rear tires. I'm sure most of you have 18" wheels. However, I currently have the stock 17" wheels (soon to be winter wheels), and the manual says pressure all around should be 36. What front/rear pressures are others using with 17" wheels? How low is too low? Thanks.
I have 17" wheels on my RSA. My owner's manual advises 36/36 (cold) as well, but I experienced excessive tread wear in the center of the rears at that pressure. Since then I've been running about 32/34 cold. That seems to work fine with my S02s, and I get even wear across the tire.
You have to either go to a wider front wheel/tire or do the suspension to cut down the understeer much, pressures won't do it unless you are willing to give up some total grip for balance.
If you lower the front pressure more than 1-2lb. the steering will start getting noticeably non-linear due to the longer, larger contact patch, the narrower 17" tire should exacerbate that.
Pressures that work best on the track where tires run hotter (more pressure gain) and never get to cool much, are not necessarily going to deliver maximum grip on the street. I have found around 41lb. rear on 18" is stickiest. But ride and noise does get a LOT better in a hurry as the rear pressure drops.
The fact they spec much lower rear pressure for 17" has always been a puzzlement to me. On the one hand, the car on the smaller tires must have a marginally higher top speed, so the high pressures for 18" rear can't be about containing heat buildup at top speed.
The shorter, wider, and much smaller contact patch spec on 18" versus 17" might then be related to some aspect of alignment, I suspect more even tire wear. Even with very high pressure they still wear on the inside, not the center.
But I also wonder that the marketing department didn't get in there and make damned sure the 18" handles better, like a faux sport suspension. Or maybe 205mm fronts just can't create enough grip to tax the big rears. Dunno.
If you feel like experimenting, try some higher rear pressures too. Love to know what you come up with.
