Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My first oil change is close and I have the LN magnetic drain plug on order and I plan to check the filter that comes out.

Suspension seems fine, 18" setup is a little harsh but the rears are close to needing changing so that probably has something to do with it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, I just picked up a new to me 996, it is a 03 C2. I have had a 86 951 for about ten years and love it but always wanted to try a 911. Love it so far. Hopefully the pics will load...

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Lets try the pics thing again...

POST 4Original post

Beautiful! I'm not far from you, looking for much the same car, an 02-04 C2 coupe. Mind telling us your specs and how much you paid? I'm not having any luck finding a car at the right price...

POST 5Original post

milage? maitenance? options?.... we'd like to know...

POST 6Original post

My past is almost identical to your present. I also owned an 86 951 and then after a long search found my current 996. Beautiful car I am sure you will enjoy 996 ownership.

POST 7Original post

Very nice! welcome to the 996 world! Nice 951, I miss mine.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks all, it seems to be a good, solid car. Good price, 68K miles, decent maintenance history (not great but decent). The pics show it just when I got back from picking it up from NC two weeks ago so it is a little cleaner now...

POST 11Original post

Another new happy owner, nice looking 911, congrats.

POST 15Original post

Congrats! Just in time for spring/summer (almost)!

POST 16Original post

i like the color and wheels. welcome. share what you know - learn what you can.

POST 17Original post

congrats! time to start the mods... are you going to lower it? curious... at 68K miles how do you like the suspension that came with it?

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, I am tempted already with a ROW M030 suspension but that will have to wait a while. Suspension seems fine, 18" setup is a little harsh but the rears are close to needing changing so that probably has something to do with it. My main task is to not panic and immediately plan to install the LN IMS bearing upgrade. My first oil change is close and I have the LN magnetic drain plug on order and I plan to check the filter that comes out.

POST 19Original post

for an 03 with 68K it's normal to change out suspension at this time.. ROW 030 is good option ; plug'n'play; you'll really like the new dynamics LN IMS bearing is prudent on your part; may want to think about a nice exhaust system to hear the symphony within... PSE, Cargraphic have some nice ones...

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, already thinking about a mod to the exhaust (Fister type) for a little better sound. Short term just getting it fully sorted (I tend to be a little **** about these things...)

POST 21Original post

slightly jealous. although very hopeful. I just sold my 951 and am looking for a 996 as well. Congrats!

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, at least you did it in the correct order. I bought my 996 and am now getting ready to put my 951 up for sale. I might try to make it up to Hershey next month and put it in the for-sale section.
