Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

i suppose these are wrecked and repaired too.............
Hey zr, see the follow up post by Maurice (C4CRNA) at the top of 2nd page of this post- he doesn't live in Dallas, hasn't seen either car, and for whatever reason, he thinks it's okay to propose both cars are wrecked and repainted with a clean Carfax...
Leading evidence: 'Repair too' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean carfax' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I also think these type of unscupulous dealers would present you a clean carfax.

I think anyone could go down there and really inspect these cars and they would see that these cars have been fixed up somehow.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Okay - I'll throw myself out there and bite...
Both cars look clean enough... the dealers look shiny and established (enough)... what am I missing?

Global has a 100% rating on fleabay, but for some reason my little brain is thinking that their reputation is not all that sterling. But I did a search and found nothing, so I must be wrong.
Looking at their inventory (and they've got a lot of 911s!) this car is priced way low, so there's got to be a good reason for it. Could be history, could be they've had it too long and just want to get rid of it.
I too would like to know how C4CRNA knows what he says he knows and how he knows it.
Michael
There are stories of problems with Global - bigtime problems.
Search on them here and you'll find the stories of the Submarine that Arr0gant bought - not a good story. I would not touch a car from them.
The reason for the low prices are mileage. One has 46k , the other 54k. There are just too many low mileage cars out there. If you are a buyer which one to you want , the one with 50k miles or one with 25k miles. With all cars, but more so with Porsche it is all about the mileage. If a car is looks perfect but has 200k on it what would you pay ?
here is how to determine its value.....close your eyes, what do you see
The cars look great. But, I'm a big believer in "you get what you pay for." So, personally, I'd avoid both of these cars.
I hate that the avg. person who isn't connected to Rennlist might think that these cars are only worth that much now. Then again, I'm not selling or buying, so no big deal for me right now.
Bob
I dunno... 46k/50k miles arent really that much... it just tells you that it was driven daily... and thats a good thing. There's more to it with these 2 samples. These are Mk1 prices....
Look I live in Massachusetts and I haven't seen either of these cars.
I do believe they fit in the category of "it's too good to be true".
Despite what people feel the market is doing. I think anyone could go down there and really inspect these cars and they would see that these cars have been fixed up somehow. I also think these type of unscupulous dealers would present you a clean carfax. I may be wrong!!
But I seriously smell a RAT. We need a local Rennlister to go and investigate.

Just FYI - check out the completed items for both of these dealers. These highline cars aren't selling on eBay right now - period. I am in the business - I have gone from selling fairly late model BMW, Porsche, Lexus cars to basically anything under $5k dollars that is decent - and still struggling to make a living.
I have been watching ebay motors. 996's are the toughest sell.Buyers are looking at 993's and then 997's if not older Porsches first. Certainly a dealer who stole these cars on trade or auction want to make a quick buck just to move them out.Economy is a killer and the Porsche market is showing its strongest and weakest demand. Hard to fess up but this is where it is now
wait until next year when 3/4 year leased 997 come to auction............
(quick reminder: 3/4 year ago, eco was very good, so lots of ppl leased porsche)
Prices of all Porsches have pretty much dropped through the basement. You can get 2006s for $ 30-35K off the MSRP, with very low mileage. The only people who haven't got the news is 993 owners on this board. They still belive their cars are worth $40 - $50 K. Nuts. Believe me, nobody's buying their cars either.
Maci,
Here is a quick tip when posting a link. You can shorten the "displayed text" for the link dramatically by doing the following:
After you have copied the link, click on the
Insert Link
icon (earth with a chain icon)
Copy the link into the pop-up window and click OK
You will see that the link is listed twice. The first part is the actual link and the second part is what will be displayed in your post. The second part will be highlighted and you can replace that with a shorter description of the link.
I have duplicated your original link below but called it
'95 993 Cab
'95 993 Cab
Posting links this way cleans up the appearance of the posts.
Hope this helps. Have a Merry Christmas!
Both of the 993's are tiptronics, drops the value by 40%
The white 95 cabrio is a few miles from my house and looks much nicer in the photos. CL ad is asking 22k

I can personally vouch for Scott from SG Auto in Plano, Texas - whoever said the car he's selling was wrecked and given a clean Carfax should show proof or be held accountable..insinuating illegal and unprofessional behavior is pretty low, especially when those dealers are feeding families just like the rest of us
I'm very interested in the SG Auto cab. I've never owned a porsche before and have been looking at 2002+ 996 convertibles. If this vehicle was wrecked, I'd really like to understand how to find that out. Also, does anyone have a recommendation for an independent porsche shop that could verify the vehicle?

Hey zr, see the follow up post by Maurice (C4CRNA) at the top of 2nd page of this post- he doesn't live in Dallas, hasn't seen either car, and for whatever reason, he thinks it's okay to propose both cars are wrecked and repainted with a clean Carfax... Everything he said was speculation because he feels the deal(s) are too good to be true. Personally he sounds like a douchebag
A quick review at the luxury car market via Manheim is further evidence just how much the P Car has taken a beating.
The ad for the Cab offered by SG has a link to the Carfax report. If you're in the DFW area, give Hans at Ruf a call for a pre purchase inspection. There are other independents in the area, but I've had excellent experience with any purchase and/or service with Ruf.
