Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I use 265/35 for my winter rear set and 295/30 for summer.

IMHO, I think a lot of folks switching from a 205 front to a 225 front think that the change reduces understeer, but I think the majority of that difference is because the 225s have a much higher load rating.

I've been running the Dunlop SSR for two seasons and now, from what I've been able to understand, the 285/30 18 is no longer available anywhere (Tire Rack or Sasco)!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been running the Dunlop SSR for two seasons and now, from what I've been able to understand, the 285/30 18 is no longer available anywhere (Tire Rack or Sasco)! Great.... I've got one I need to replace.
If I buy two new 265/35 18s for the rear will I have any problems???? How will my handling change??? Will it cause me to immediately veer off the hard surface or spin around and around. How about alignment??? ......or will I notice very little difference???
I guess as soon as the rest of this set wears out it will be back to the (realatively expensive) Michelin Pilot Sport Cup!!!
I've really liked them. I ran MPSCs and found those nice.
Read about Palting getting some of these as a prize and figured I'd give them a shot. Cost less, performance (at my level) about the same and they last as long as the MPSCs or a little longer. I liked the fact that you can "flip" them to get longer life on the outside edge....same as MPSCs.
All in all.... its about the same for lots less $$$$$.
I'm sorry to see them going.
I use 265/35 for my winter rear set and 295/30 for summer.
I find the 265/35 the car handles great. As soon as I put on the summer tires, it handles a bit worse and going over on even or bumpy bad roads the car likes to wander a lot more then with the narrower tires.
I am wondering why I shouldn't go with a summer 265 tire instead, would defiantly be much cheaper.
FWIW, on a Boxster S, I've run combinations of 205/255s, 225/265s, 235/265s, and 235/285s in different combinations in 17s and 18s, and I haven't noticed much difference in the overall handling balance among relative front/rear width differences (from 30 to 50). My caveat is that this assumes you've got the tire pressures right. IMHO, I think a lot of folks switching from a 205 front to a 225 front think that the change reduces understeer, but I think the majority of that difference is because the 225s have a much higher load rating. 235s even more so. I think you'll be fine. I have the Dunlop SSRs, and really like them, too. I hope they'll bring them back some day. Another tire which I haven't run but is in the same league is the PZero Corsa. A few of the GT2/GT3 guys like them for the street. If you check around, you can find some deals on some Corsa sizes.
It looks ok, you can tell because you know but other people looking at the car won't be able to tell.
I have switched to my summer tires all ready so I can't take a photo.
Though if your going to run this tire size all year round I would recommend going out and getting a rim made exactly for this tire size.
Porsche sells the rears rims since they off the winter package but they are to much $$.
These ones here are
available
Tirerack also sells them.
What suspension/sway bars are you running? If you have adjustability you may be able to compensate for the balance changes. If not, you'll have to drive around any perceived problem.
Yes Porsche sells them.
They have a winter package (recommend by Porsche for the Turbo and C4S) which includes
Front
225/40VR18 Pirelli Winter 240 SnowSport
Wheels 18x8.5 offset 52
Rear
265/35VR18 Pirelli Winter 240 SnowSport
Wheels 18x10 offset 47
Obviously you would only need the rear wheels.
265/35ZR18 Pirelli PZero System Asimmetrico
These tires and wheels are an optional upgrade and are OE on the

The Mille Miglia Cup 3 are not the real OE Porsche rims but they are the same style
