Mid-Ohio action pics

My garage mate at Mid-Ohio sent me these pics from last weekend. It's still early in the season, so I'm still pretty psyched. Thought I'd share them with you all. Here's why I wear out my left tires!! I definitely need more negative camber, or the X73.

Unloaded and flying off the hump at the keyhole, it looks like the C4S has the gorund clearance of an SUV.

Looks like you had alot of fun. I missed Mid-OH so much, its still one of my favourite track even after I moved here to CA.

Mid-Ohio is a blast. There is always a little something I find I can do better each time I go there. It truly is so darn technical, one little thing can make a huge and rewarding difference. Keeps you coming back for more. You CA boys have Laguna Seca, though. Fantastic historc track. One of my dream tracks I hope to go to sometime.

Hey! Palting I've never seen the wide angle shot from that spot, nicely shows the elevation changes...are you going for the May/28 & 29 (sat.sun) DE at mid-ohio hosted by northern ohio BMW club, I sent mine in 2 days ago, and I think they have spots open, it's going to be my first event with R-compounds,.....as you know, there are only a couple of wknd. DE events at mid-ohio for the entire year, so try to make it.

It comes in handy if you run out of asphalt...don't ask me how I know

Hi jeeva. Madness is an obvious one, but keyhole is one of the subtle "launch pads" that need to get mastered. Almost as much fun as turn 7 in BeaveRun . Thanks for the heads-up on the BMW club. I didn't know about it. I've been trying to rack up the miles on the 987S to the magic 2000 miles. I think May 28-29 will be perfect! What R-compounds did you get?

Pirelli p-zero corsa's, 235/40/18 fronts and 285/30/18's for the rear. Also, trackquest has open lapping for that monday (memoral day) and tuesday, you can also choose only the monday and pay less, i am very tempted...

Interesting choice on sizes. Going for less understeer, huh? Let me know if there are any rubbibg problems at the 235's. Are you running stock suspension specs, like the negative camber? My first time on R-compounds was somewhat intimidating. I ended up going scary fast, faster than what I wanted to go. I actually went back to street tires for a while, before I got comfortable at the pace of the R-compounds. Tracquest puts togetther an excellent event. I've been with them at Mid-Ohio, VIR and Watkins. More expensive. But, you get all day long refreshments for you and your entourage ( I have a large family ), excellent catered lunch, and, the most important of all, more track time. Paricularly on the second day, when there may be only two run groups alternating all day. He also sets up the cones a little differently than the PCA clubs do, giving you a little insight on finding your own ideal driving line. He was a bit new in the East coast, so the instructors were kinda green. This will be he's third year here in the east, so it should be better. If you had to chose just one, I recommend you go with tracquest. I'd go myself, but I'm introducng my wife to the track and the track time I think will be too much for her with tracquest. Cheaper/more value to go with the bimmers first.
