Those stickers were cool to me at 16 and probably the ricer crowd.
Leading evidence: 'ricer crowd' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'ricer crowd' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Run 315/35/19 tires in the rear it would fit better' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I think if they ran 315/35/19 tires in the rear it would fit better.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This is defintely not for the tame at heart. One of the craziest 996 to 997 conversion I have ever seen. This is defintely a hit or miss with most enthusiasts. You have to appreciate all the work that went into the build though.
These pictures were supplied by my buddy in Indonesia. This weekend the car won best of show at one of the biggest shows out there.
Here is the modlist.

- BEST OF SHOW AT INDONEDIA CAR SHOW ACC BDG 17-18 MAY 2008
Everything is custom made or built. Looks like a cross between a Tech Art Front and Gemballa Sides and Rear.
Car is supercharged with the Evolution Motorsports supercharger with Vortech components.
Here are the pictures
The one bit I do find interesting is the front hood. If it is actually vented and functional. I could see a use for that with downforce and a properly placed center radiator.

very true...why?? with that, I love the way it looks. At first, I wouldn't have ever thought it was a 996, until I saw the close up of the nose on the back of the flat bed. I was like....hmmm...those lines are so 996. Very interesting shape.
I think even Ben C. would have liked this.

Looks like they put on an entire catalog cf bits. Looks like one of those boxter cgt plastic cars. Another car for the Top Gear Carbage collection.
Are those even real girls? Maybe they are fake like the car???
uh, I don't get it. looks un-drivable. rear wheels protrude outboard of bodywork. that thing will never see the track in it's current form. possibly the most shameless bastardization of a Porsche I have every seen. that wing.... what can be said...
Buttugly spoiler and colors, obvious wheel issues, but the execution is good, except why go through all that and then leave the EASIEST swap of all, the side view mirrors!
What is so tacky is the sticker that says Vortech along with the supercharger one. Come on, are we in high school? Those stickers were cool to me at 16 and probably the ricer crowd.
Very funny.
They actually purchased the wheels from my last Widebody Porsche Blue and built the widebody around the wheels.
I think if they ran 315/35/19 tires in the rear it would fit better.
Yes the car is in Indonesia. I think with a decent wing in the rear such as the Techart GT Street it would be a little tamer. That Gemballa rear wing is just too crazy.
Why on earth build a car like this in Indonesia when you have the worlds worst traffic jams and crap roads!? Is it just a show car or is it used on the road?
Uh... wow. I can't imagine doing that to a 911. If it were destined for the track I'd say it was a nice looking racecar, but with the way it's set up it looks more like it's designed to sit in a parking lot with glowing neon lights around the bottom and it's hood up to show off a huge set of subwoofers.

that's a show car if I've ever seen one, I'm not certain that it's supposed to roll at all. Decals definitely for sponsors. I do like the way the exhaust tips come out through the bodywork/above the diffuser though.
I see alot of nice work on the car. The owner could very well be an owner of a body shop so the cost would be low and could be a great way of promoting his shop.
My friend is starting a 996 to 997GTRS conversion in 2 weeks. He does own a shop and will be into parts and labor is cheap. It will feature all FACTORY parts including door handles, mirrors tail lights and even GT3RS rear 1/4 panels.
I think the car here would look alot better without the crazy wheels that do not have the correct offset. Even if you put wider tires on the wheels they are WAY off! The color is HORRIBLE on the wheels also, they do not match the body color.
Yikes I hate to think about how much $$$ was put into this project.....
Stickers need to go
rear wing is way too much
and those rear wheels.....they are out of sorts.
I like it coz I'm visioning doing the following:
take the stickers off, paint with a better color scheme, fix the wheel offsets
All that makes it too ricey.. but to go the other way is boring too. The point is not everyone wants to look like a boring stock 911
How much is "Rp 4.000.000" in US bucks? Which brings me to the next question: how can one really justify the cost of converting an already costly 996 to something that is not far from a 997GT2/3, which could probably be had for less than the cost of the conversion work itself, not to mention the purchase price of the 996? Plus, I'm sure it would be annoying not being able to go anywhere without having 14 yr olds ask you "are you Paul Walker?" and "What is Vin Diesel like in real life?" or "can you get me a date with Michelle Rodriguez?"
