Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Since getting back from London I've been debating about a change Here's some details:
Leading evidence: 'Replace here's some details' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace here's some details' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just wanted to see if there's any interest
Dell I think your right but I wanted to feel the market out, I'll still have to run it by the wife who will probably hit the roof if/when i mention it.....
The market should be STRONG for your car. There have been quite a few requests lately for Aero 996 cars. And IIRC, there was an individual recently that specifically wanted SY.
Chad just sold his white aero 996 and from what I could tell he priced it at the top end of the 996 market and got it b/c f the condition as well as the aero....and very quickly it sold.
I really think your car is stunning. Personally if I didn't have my mind 100% made up that I was ready to move on and already had a car picked out I'd think it was a mistake to get rid of something I already owned.
"The market should be STRONG for your car. There have been quite a few requests lately for Aero 996 cars. And IIRC, there was an individual recently that specifically wanted SY."
Thats me! We have spoke on many occasions but were never able to meet on terms. Sent you a PM, let me know your thoughts.
Cheers, David
If you don't know, I would not get rid of your car unless its on your terms. I like my aero but your car is pristine; one of the cleanest I have ever seen.
Thanks Chao and I have the price in mind and will only let it go at that.
Steve I hope your well man, it's been a long time and I hope your feeling much better now...
Bavorak the price is what it is considering a few people on this board have seen the car in person.
Thanks for asking and I am feeling much better but I do miss my SY but oh well, there will be another car in my future but probably not for a little while though. Yeah I haven't been around that much since the loss, but I do like to check in now and then. Actually Wellard informed me about your car as he wants me back in one ASAP.
Good luck with your sale and you can easily get whatever you are asking for as your car is pristine and rare.
Thanks Mac, my first choice was white but the speed yellow is great.
I think it's time to get serious about letting her go and looking for a new set of wheels.....
Totally agree. Anything in the mid 30's the buyer get a good deal and anything in the high 30's the seller get a good deal. I think 39 is fair and depending on how quick he wants to sell he should be very close to that number.
Hi Dell! Did you know that it was your praise of my aero for sale in Chicago that caused me to pull the trigger within 48 hrs? Congratulations on the fatherhood thing.
Thanks Chao! Glad I could be of help
It also helps that (well at least my opinion) I think that next to the GT3, the pre-facelift 996 Aero is one of the most beautiful cars there is!
Trust me on this one, if I had the space (already have 5 cars and a 4 post lift) and a wife that wouldn't lose her mind if I bought another car, I would buy this one in a heartbeat as my DD. The only problem is my DD is also my tow vehicle and I can't get rid of that.
This one will be gone quickly as soon as he decides to part with her. (wrong choice IMHO
)
Dell why do you make my decisions even harder ;-)
I did take a long glance at her this morning and it's friggin hard to decide if i should let her go or keep her for another few years....
One of my daughters gave me the evil stare yesterday when i mentioned it and she' just turned 5, her reply was "not again dad!"
Mick,
I agree with Dell. The market has shown that a well cared for MK1 aero is keeping its value while others, even if well kept, are still depreciating.
My personal agenda is that I still have not had a drive with you yet so the car cannot go.
The problem with me is that I don't get rid of cars I love so I won't make your decision very easy
. My wife and I still have our 2000 CAB that has almost 80K miles on it and even after 8 years it still doesn't get old driving it! And the GT3? That is a rare car that is something everybody in the P-Car community (correct that, EVERYBODY, period) should experience which is why I find great joy in giving rides at track days. I will NOT ever get rid of that. It sure helps that I have so much sunk into it that it makes no sense to sell it ever.
Do you think that this is true for "factory optioned" aeros or any MK1 Aero? I'm thinking about adding a full aero kit to my car but I hate to put $ into it that I will never get back out...Don't mean to hijack the thread, but what are you opinions about this?
Sounds like Suncoast sells them for +/-$4500 plus paint. I'm guessing my car is worth high 20's...would an aero make it worth $35Kish?
thanks
Mark,
I think it has to do with if its a factory optioned aero or if its with aftermarket bits. Mileage and service records are also factors. I think his techart upgrades makes it highly desirable and worth more.
I bought mine last year with 66K miles including many options at what people thought was a very good price. Mick's ride is just that much nicer because there aren't that many of them around.
The OP's ride is very nice and the looks are what I would like my 1999 artic silver car to look like. Just as an FYI on recreating/adding the Aero package, the euro to dollar conversion is really hitting us hard. I asked for a quote from Suncoast today for all the factory pieces that they sell for the MKI Aero:
Front Nose = $1800
Side skirts/rear strakes = $1010
Rear tail including wiring harness = $4790
This quote is for new factory pieces. So if you include taxes and such it's low $8K's for the parts alone. You would then need to add the cost of paint and install, or at least paint if you plan on doing the install yourself. If you turn key it it's close to a $10K plunge. Going used parts and f/g pcs would lessen the dollar bleeding but would be aftermarket pieces.
Almost makes more sense to find a car with the Aero already on it like Exlonder's unless you got a killer deal on your base car.
Bill P.
Thanks for the generous words mate.
For everyone reading there is never a weekend that goes by without people stopping and asking questions or just to praise her - she is a real stunner and catches a lot of attn.
i had this car shipped from Florida from the previous owner two years ago who has two F cars and a few spec race cars in his stable.
My decision was made when I saw that the car had the full Aero kit and suspension. All I've added since is 6k miles, a short shifter, a TA shift **** to match the pedals, an RSS Plenum installed by me, prof painted rear bumperettes and a set of champion wheels - it also came with the silver crested steering wheel.
Mitch... didnt you go through this selling phase about this time last year.... you should go through your SC plans and also think you're nuts to get rid of such a fine example.
