Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Greetings, I'm trying to determine a realistic selling price for an '04 Carrera Cabriolet (light options; $83-85k MSRP) for the basis of a lease. Edmunds.com and CarsDirect.com both indicate a target price of MSRP, which I can't believe given the shaky economic climate and the fact that the 997 is out of the bag. A look at Los Angeles area dealer inventory on-line shows many in stock (including some leftover new '03s). How much off of MSRP are people getting? I've seen the threads here indicating heavy discounts on the 40th Anniversary cars...are people seeing the same on Cabriolets? Although I'm in the Los Angeles area, I have no problem going elsewhere for a good price. Also, if anybody can provide info on good lease details obtained recently, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've seen leasecompare.com, thanks. But I still need a realistic transaction price to plug in for the vehicle, hence my plea for info on what others have been able to get off of MSRP.

POST 4Original post

I bought my MY2003 cab last Dec. and got $14K off MSRP. I think today, you can even do better. I have seen MY2004 40th going for over $20K off of MSRP.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the info... If you don't mind me asking, what was the original MSRP? I don't think there's $14k of room on a lightly optioned car ($83-85k).

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wow...that's a hell of a deal. No doubt helped by the fact it was well into the 2004 model year. Anybody else have recent C2 Cabriolet transaction prices to share?
