Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, today is the day. I just found out that my father is picking up his new '04 C4S Cabrio this evening. I can't wait to find out how different it drives from my '03 M3. It is a weird feeling though, I have been a car nut all my life. Now, at 28 yrs old, and financially independent from my parents, I still feel like a little kid waiting to see my father's new car. It is a midnight blue with gray leather and blue carpets. I can't remember what option packages he got, but I was pretty sure that the C4S already came very well equiped. He did not get the hard top delete because here in AZ, the summers are just brutal. Just a few short hours to go...

OK..... Don't forget to sent those photos..... -Eli

POST 3Original post

You really shouldn't compare it to you M3 until the car is broken in. My C4S Cab has about 12K miles and is just starting to come into its own... then you shouldn't compare them for obvious reasons!! Yes, please post some pics.

POST 4Original post

GNALUZU Enjoy! I'm now 2 weeks into the ownership of my C4S and loving it more each day. So far I have pushed the handling to the "this is insane" level and the car is still laughing at me. Take it easy and definately puts some pics out there! Barry

POST 5Original post

Did you get a good deal? How much off MSRP? I hope that you enjoy the ride!

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, simply put, the car is amazing. I only drove it about 10 miles, but it is by far, the easiest car I have ever driven. Everything just seems to flow into place. They told us to go easy on the engine for the first 2,000 miles, but they also mentioned that technically the engine is broken in when the car is built. Now, my family is no stranger to break in procedures since we had them on my M3 and my father's M5, so that shouldn't be a problem. As for pics, I will try and get some taken soon, but I don't get over to my parents house too often, so it may take a while. As for what type of deal, I am not sure. My father got the car on lease as his company car so I am not sure of the specifics. All I know is that it is absolutely stunning.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

One quick question, the brake peddle felt like it needed a significant amount of pressure, compared to my M3 (and my father's '01 M5). Is this normal? I know the brakes on there are the same as the turbo (and those red calipers look amazing), but i didn't think I would have to push that hard to get the car to slow down. Is this something that I need to get used to, or will it losen up a little as the car gets worn in?

POST 9Original post

GNALUZU Based upon my experience that is normal. My C4S (03) needs a hefty amount of pressure too but if you push hard it stops hard. And now a short story. A number of years ago I went on the one-day rally course at Silverstone run in the woods behind the track. Awesome day (I wonder if they still do it) Anyway, I digress. At that time I owned a Peugeot 309 GTi, which happened to be the same car they used on the course. I was very surprised to find that they have removed all of the power assistance on the brakes to improve brake feel. This is a very long way of sayingthats what it reminded me of but without being quite so extreme. Barry
