Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have noticed that I don't always see that option decoder thing - it shows in work (running NT) but not at home (running XP).

All that said, since you live in NJ, that little extra ride height might save some $$$ in the long run on crappy tri-state roads....

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

OK...new boy question here but there are so many 'codes' thrown around on here that it could confuse a stupid person. Fitting into the latter category can someone tell me where I can find out what all these things mean?
I don't know of any glossary that'd have those defined, and I'm quite a newbie myself... but...
X50 - power package for Turbo 996s
X51 - power package for NA 996s
X74 - Euro sport suspension for 996s
etc. Some of them I know from the forum, some of them you can learn from a site like carnewal.com.
power output to 444 hp. Includes modified turbo chargers, intercoolers, electronic control units and transmission. Note: Also available in conjunction with Tiptronic S.
Thanks. I have noticed that I don't always see that option decoder thing - it shows in work (running NT) but not at home (running XP).

Now a question. I believe the C4S already has a lowered ride and stiffer suspension - does that mean it also has the X74 package as standard?
As delivered the C4S carries the Turbo standard suspension.
For the wide body cars, selecting option X73 "Sports Suspension" will lower the car by ~20mm all round.
Curiously X73 is not available as a pre-order option in the US....but PCNA can and does supply the parts.
Houlds...Your car is not lowered unless the previous owner did it aftermarket. Due to US vehicle laws, the bumper of all new cars must be a certain height from the ground. In order to accomplish this, Porsche increases the height of the suspension, to just squeak in over the minimum. In order to return the car to the suspension height it was designed to have, you need to get one of the X73/4, or ROW M030 kits. That is why so many people are initially disappointed with the handling, which is kinda floaty and so eventually lower to what it should be.
All that said, since you live in NJ, that little extra ride height might save some $$$ in the long run on crappy tri-state roads....
Thanks for the info. If the car is not handling adequately then I am not yet qualified to know this since it seems to handle very well to me. It certainly does not feel floaty but instead feels taught and in control. Of course this could just be that I am not used to this level of car and perhaps after a little more time and/or a drive in someone elses car that might change.
That said, I have already scraped the bottom of the front bumper going into someones driveway (fortunately I thought that it might be tight so I went slowly) so, as you say, I might need that extra bit of road height around here.
Thanks again!
Barry
I got the PSS9 to be able to adjust and corner balance. Having the GT3 aero kit, I do need to keep my eye out to keep the front lower lip from touching the ground. This is only on transitions from street to parking, I have never had any problem with roads.
Seattle is not know for smooth roads.
I will try to send a pic. all that I currently have are greater than 200K.
its a kind of aftermarket suspension (like Ground Control, H&R, etc)...not made by Porsche of course.
what is the difference between the X73/4 and RoW M030 suspensions?
PSS9 is an ADJUSTABLE aftermarket, which is especially great if you track the car. You can adjust ride height, camber, etc.
X73 and X74 are the same thing, but 73 is for TT/C4S and 74 is for C2/C4
The ROW M030 will drop your car 20MM front and 10MM rear; the X73/4 are 40/30
