Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm so impressed with my dealer that I ahev to give them a little free advertising. I bought my CPO '02 C2 on Saturday, and dropped it off again yesterday to fit the Lojack I ordered plus fix a sticky blinker stalk. Well, they found the dreaded RMS as they were working and fixed it. Then they found the clutch was rather worn, and replaced it under warranty (!) without wasting time calling me. The service department will be leaving the keys with the sales guy tonight so I don't have to leave work early either. This is by far the best dealership experience I have ever had.

POST 2Original post

Sure wish more dealars were like that, especially down here in OC.

You'll get some interesting replies to this. Some guys here hate the Auto Gallery. I bought my car there as well and have been somewhat pleased. John George, the pre-owned manager is a very helpful guy, so ask for him if you have a problem. Also, if you get your car serviced their, make sure to ask for the service manager. I don't recall his name. He's a gruff guy, but helpful. My experience with two other guys there is that they were friendly but lacked knowledge and were not helpful at all.

POST 4Original post

Speaking of "interesting replies", I live within a few blocks of AG and I stopped using them years ago with my Audi. I'll just say I found them to be less than competent on more than one occasion and I made a habit of taking my Audis to Rusnak Westlake. Sounds like they may be improving, or maybe they just handle their pcar customers a little better than their Audi customers. -Mike

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Do you mean Don? He fits your description of gruff but helpful.

POST 6Original post

my understanding they need to do fix those BEFORE they cpo the car?

POST 7Original post

Yup - Don is the man over there in the service department. If anyone needs to use them, I encourage you to ask for Don and you'll be properly taken care of...

POST 8Original post

I agree with pl. Ur RMS, sticky blinker, and clutch ALL wore out after only one day of owning it? Didn't think so. Before the car sells anything fixed would come out of the dealers pocket, after its sold and cpo'd then it's on PCNA's dime. All a cpo'd car means is that you'll be bringing the car back to get all the problems fixed AFTER you buy it. Would you have paid what you did for the car if they told you it had a RMS issue and needed a new clutch? You would of bargained the price down more or at least had the ammo to. That's another reason why the dealerships don't fix them before you buy it. They want to get top dollar.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's one way of looking at it. The blinker fix was an agreed condition of sale so that was happening anyway. I did dig around under the car before purchase, and the RMS certainly wasn't obvious, and the clutch seemed reasonable from a driving perspective, so I'm inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt and say that they went above and beyond the call when they switched the clutch for free.
