Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently took delivery of the fabspeed cold air intake kit (CAI) plus a BMC F1 filter. Change over was a breeze but I was left wondering why I paid so much money for a small piece of cheap plastic and an orange hose. I cannot notice any differnece in sound but I do have fabspeed mufflers and maybe that makes it harder to hear any difference. ON a purely subjective basis (so far) the car does feel a little more responsive under throttle. If that's true then I dont know if thats the air filter or the CAI. I am not willing to replace the old filter to find out! My guess is that its the filter and I wouldnt bother with the orange hose. I still cant figure out why the OEM has the little plastic box attachment ? Interesting to hear from someone who has just changed the filter?
