Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I love small run groups ...over 200 miles of track time.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello all
I was at the Pfaff track event at Shannonville Raceway today. The track is approx 120 miles from Toronto and is a very technical track....slower speeds than Mosport and much less "pucker factor".
As usual, I was the oldest and slowest driver...but I have a much more relaxed life!
I had th GIAC chip flash and Evo intake installed by Pfaff Tuning (a division of Pfaff Porsche, Canada's largest Porsche dealer) installed last week and well as putting on a set of Goodyear F1 Gs D3's. What did I learn?
1. Track days are a blast and Pfaff, with the assistance of Apex Driver Training, does a great job. John and Malcom have a good set of instructors and organize the day for enjoyment and learning...well done!
2. I love small run groups ...over 200 miles of track time.
3. I had a wonderful time with fellow enthusiasts....makes for enjoyable conersations about life and cars
4. GIAC chip flash and EVO intake made a difference with my 2001 3.4 996 Cab. Car has PSE and M030 suspension. This is my 6th season with the car at Shannonville. Engine mods meant shifting into 4th for the first time before corner 2 on the "long track" and gaining about 100 feet in 4th gear on back straight. This was with a 240 Lb passenger vs last date of Sept 2005 with hardtop on (80 lbs??). Certainly more jump out of corners and better plus 4k rpm performance.
5. Bad news was a 'check engine light" mid-day. Did not affect performance. Pfaff Tuning guys suspected O2 sensor or running car close to empty and setting off light. I'll take it back and they'll make it right. Lesson is to purchase these mods at a trusted source
6.Goodyear F1 GSD3s work well. Great turn in, better braking compared to Kumho's. Tire guys at track recommended 10% PSI over street as they said that they Goodyears trash quickly with lower pressures.
7. I had one session before grabbing an instructor...a 6 month winter lay-off is tough. Instructor (Gerry) was excellent in getting me make to non-embarrassment staus
8. Porsche people are wonderful to spend a day with. I meet old track-mates and meet new ones...a truly enjoyable day
9. Gerry the instructor took me on 4 or 5 laps in the Pfaff Tuning Cayman S (Tubi exhaust). What a car...what a driver. On a technical track like Shannonville, is hard to beat...he had no issues keeping up with a 996 X50 Turbo.
10. I brought my friend of 50 years with me. He drives carts, but has never driven a car on a track. He had a fabulous time and the group has converted him to the "expensive" side. What a treat to see the smile on his face...we are a lucky group of people.
Looking forward to the next track day
Regards
Ian
