Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It's a 2001 tipronic ( I don't want a manual ) with 22k miles and the lowest the guy would go is $73,500. He just put on brand new 19" wheels and tires which he says he spent about $7k for. He also put in a sound system for $8k. There is no warranty on it. But auto g-llery near me said $3500 would buy me a zero deductible warranty for 4 years if I want one. Also, do you think the windows are tinted too much and will get me a ticket? And is this a good deal you think or is just a fair price?
If I'm the only one that reply's and I say...too much, pass...would you? On the other hand if I say great price would you buy? You have to write the check. You have to be happy after you do that. What I'm getting at is...check the Kelly BB, N.A.D.A. and do what will make
you
happy. Good luck on your decision
Edit: the car looks very nice
Tips traditionally yield much lower resales than 6speeds, as do custom wheels. I noticed the clear sides, has the car ever been modded?
Get a ppi and make a lowball offer, say 65K, you might be surprised.
I agree with C4S surgeon - I think you can get this car for mid to upper 60s - don't forget that the other rims were trashed within 22k miles, so you may have to replace some of those babies as well in the next 20k miles. The car is beautiful, but aftermarket rims and a stereo depreciate faster than the rest of the car, so don't let him make you feel like you need to pay a super premium for those items. Yes, those windows might get you a ticket, but window tint can be changed by a pro for under $200. Good luck
$65 - $70K for a 2001 w/ 20K mi is aveage, Don't know about the tip. The wheels and stereo are only worth the premium if YOU love them. Once you buy it (or any 996TT) you'll forget the price and love driving it. CPO or waranty is a neccessity in my opinion. Good luck.
My philosophy: If you will be happy, if you will feel alive, if you will enjoy your life a little bit more then. Who cares about a few thousand either way? Honestly? Prepare for tomorrow but live for today. Bottom line, no matter what our opinions are, it will be your car.
Do you think its worth the loot? if so then go get it
I think the wheels are really nice and the car looks like a beast.. Go 4 it
Cars are funny. We each have a price that we would sell for today but if we couldn't get it tomorrow, or three months from now, we might take less.
I think that the car is worth what you want to pay for it to you. I think 65-70 is a good buy. Although the tip is a 3K option, it does not pay a premium on resale. I agree with thte others make an offer that you would pay today ( as in if he says ok to 70K) you have to buy and not reneg with a lower offer. It sounds like theperson put money into the car and enjoyed it. That is what adds value to me. for example, I would never defer maintenance and it shows. Knowing how I care for my cars would hopefully convince someone that my cars are worth more than someone who defers maintenance.
Lastly I am not sure that the TURBO needs the warranty as much as the 996 due to the RMS issues.
Let us know.
