I originally used a 17 mm spacer on the rear with the 65 offset of the MY02 Wheels. It worked but the car looked silly because of the sunk in rear wheel and the handling was very poor.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 1 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I couldn't find much on this set up but it seems to be the "Perfect winter Setup" 8x18 inch front wheels and 8x10 inch rear wheels. Like many 996 Widebody and 996 Turbo guys, I was having problems finding a winter set up. the rear 265 width should not be stretched onto a 11 inch wide wheel. This was my solution. I originally used a 17 mm spacer on the rear with the 65 offset of the MY02 Wheels. It worked but the car looked silly because of the sunk in rear wheel and the handling was very poor. I changed the rear spacers to a 25mm and presto. The rear wheel well looked filled in and the car was much more stable.

POST 5Original post

I have identical set up on mine, needs a big fat spacer in the back.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im guessing that I could have gone with at 30 to 35mm spacer with the rear wheel 65 offset

POST 7Original post

I've got 18x10s on the back of my C4S for winter also. My wheels have a 48mm offset, and I use a 17mm spacer. It looks very good.

POST 10Original post

Sorry for the delay... I finally got around to posting pics!

POST 11Original post

Def need spacers in the back! I remember I put one of these wheels on my C4S just as a spare once and it was tiny looking. Run a slightly bigger spacer then the one you are using now and it would look perfect.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dennis ... I'm guessing the rears are using 17mm factory spacers?

POST 13Original post

Yes they are 17mm factory spacers on 10x18 wheels with a 48mm offset.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Didn't the Sport Technos come with rear 11x18" 63 offset?

POST 16Original post

Yes they did. Porsche also offered a set of Sport Technos specifically for winter tires on widebody cars in a 10x18" with a 48mm offset.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's pretty neat..... And I learned something new today.
