Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Perfect case in point, my first 996 the Aero Kit was fitted by the previous owner.
Leading evidence: 'Install by the previous owner' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install by the previous owner' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I bought this car in September, so this post is a couple months overdue. Better late than never? I realize what a tough crowd this is, so I hope youll forgive me for the delay. I already know some of you from the Cayman-Club forum (hi Mooty), where I spent a couple fun years. Prior to that I was a RennLister on the 944 forums, although that account lapsed ages ago. Now its good to be a RL Member again.
About the car: 2003 996 C2 6-speed coupe, black on black. I purchased it from local P-dealer with a new CPO warranty. Car has 28k miles. It was originally registered in GA, then in FLA, but arrived in Cali in 2005 with only ~10k miles, so clearly its South-Eastern owner wasnt driving it every day.
Factory options: Full Aerokit II (option XAA), M030, switch-able PSE, manual leather sport seats with backs painted black, red seat belts, and 18 Carrera lightweight wheels. Other than that its a bit of a stripper no PSM, no Bose, no leather, no lumbar, power or heat in the seats, etc (all of which is fine with me since it saves a little bit of weight).
As you can see in the photos, the car is at full US-spec ride height. My winter projects are X-74 suspension (just waiting for the parts to arrive), oil-pan from X-51 kit and the factory aluminum oil-pan shield. Oh, and some SS brake lines. Otherwise shell be kept stock since I need to keep it streetable for weekends. And, yes, I am one of those track-people
Anyway, hello everyone! Enjoy the pics! Sorry the car isnt uber-clean, but Im firmly in the camp that believes cars are meant to move rather than sit, so the pics reflect that.

Welcome aboard! But get away from this forum and go DRIVE it! I don't understand why so many 2003 cars have such few miles on them. (I have 32,000 on my 2006). Log off and then turn that key with your LEFT hand....
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
I have to say the Aeorkit really adds to the fun of owning this car. Does anybody have any idea how many mk2 996's came from the factory with the full Aerokit II (the XAA option was about $8k, IIRC). There seem to be fewer mk2 Carreras with the full factory Aerokit than mk1s. Is that right?
The track pics are from Sears Point/Infineon. The "drifting" picture is from Turn 11: the 2nd-gear hairpin before the front straight... I overcooked it under braking, ended up too deep in the turn so I had to really chuck the car to get enough rotation done to get somewhat of a proper apex out of it. That good-ol' rear weight bias took care of the rest. It was just dumb luck the photographer captured the whole episode in a sequences of shots. Kinda a dicey moment with a wall on one side and tire-piles on the other, but fortunately I pulled-out of it and drove on down the straight just fine.
Thanks again for you kind comments.

I'm curious of those numbers (MK I vs MK II Aeros) too but I think it will be hard to determine as many people fit the Aero Kits after they've had their cars for a while. Perfect case in point, my first 996 the Aero Kit was fitted by the previous owner. My current is a factory Aero.
Alas, alas, alas... I didn't have my video camera installed in the 996 for that event.
To placate the video-hounds, I offer you 2 laps of the same track (Infineon): a1:56.0 and a 1:56.3 that I did in February in my Cayman S. Almost as fast as my 996...
