All, I was running errands, parked on a busy city street and when I returned my car wouldn't start. A couple days ago I noticed a hesitation while under throttle - a heavy hesitation that lasted 2-3 seconds of off/on. It happened a few times and then was fine. Today I started it up, got the same hesitation, then it was fine and when I parked it and returned it wouldn't start. Power is fine. Starter is fine. I'm in the process of calling roadside assistance, but wanted to see if anyone on this group would have an idea. Fuel filter clogged? Fuel pump? Many thanks in advance, Payton

What do you mean bu would not start? Does the starter turn the engine over but it never fires - or do you get nothing when you turn the key? If it is the latter then it could be the clutch interlock switch. The switch is easy to bypass.

Got a flatbed to take it to the shop and they're diagnosing it now. To answer some of the questions, it's a 2001 C2 with 74k mi. It underwent the 60k service and then recently I have had the air/oil separator replaced, clutch replaced, plugs, alternator and brake pads. All within the past 2k miles. The starter turns the motor over, but it never fires. That's why I'm guessing it's a fuel delivery issue. We'll see what the shop says. Thanks guys, P

My 2001 C4 had the alternator die... but that was easy to diagnose... lost all instrument power while driving and pulled over.
