Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Currently I have following 18 inch turbo twist rims under my car: front 8,5J x 18H2 ET 52 rear 10J x 18H2 ET 55 I need another set of rims for winter tires. I have available for a reasonable price rims that look exactly the same in the pictures but their ET -number is 46 in front and 42 rear. These wheels were originally used under a Boxter. The question is will the rims fit under my 996 and what is the difference? The seller is positive that they fit but I am a bit hesitant because of the ET -number thing. Can anyone help?

POST 2Original post

No, the 42MM in rear will not fit. That is 23 MM off and it is in the wrong direction for spacers to help. You can find twists and other styles in the correct offset fairly cheap especially for use in the winter. No need to get great wheels. Also, winter tires are better suited to 17 inch wheels, but they are ugly

POST 3Original post

I agree with smshirk , the rear wheels are from a wide body car and will stick out too far on your car and probably rub on the fender.
