Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace oil' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace oil' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As a serial car enthusiast (five cars in four years), I always enjoy trading in and out of vehicles to sample the "next new thing." Yesterday, I traded my 1995 Ferrari 355B for a 2003 Basalt Black Porsche C4S. While I was sad to the Ferrari go - I loved that car - I am THRILLED with the C4S. Have only put 30 miles on the car, but look forward to providing you with driving impressions in the coming weeks, relative to the Prancing Horse.
Many thanks to all that have provided guidance and advice in recent weeks leading up to the sale.
Need to resize the pics for both the Porsche and Ferrari. Will get them up soon.
Answered in the first sentence of my post. I'm a serial car enthusiast, and while I enjoy and appreciate all of my cars, I don't get attached to any one of them. Put 5,000 miles on the Ferrari over the course of 15 month and enjoyed every one of them. Time to move on.
First things first. Need to get:
- Clear side markers
- A good car cover
Understand SunCoast offers the side markers. Anyone have recommendations for a good car cover (apart from what Carnewal sells?)
you can find a good car cover from coverking.com
The stormproof model is the winner; very light and made of a revolutionary fiber.
Pelicanparts.com sell them and their service is excellent
Had a Boxster, then Boxster S, then a 360 Modena Spider, then a 996 Cab, then a 996 TT, then a 951 TS (modded), to now a 3.6 NA 996 Carrera Coupe. The Ferrari was great fun, but long term ownership did not seem plausible. Porsches are GTs by design and very easy to live with. You may find yourself never going back to the Prancer. The 24 month (only) warranty on my ex-spider says a lot directly from Ferrari related to longevity and reliability of product.
I sold it after 2 months while it was still hot to resell. I knew when I got it, it would be gone before the first service. The price for service is outrageous, though. You would be surprised how many hardcore Ferrari guys sell their cars for newer Ferraris within a twelve month window.
When I was contemplating the decision Cpa4S, I searched through the archives and came across the beautiful pics you had posted of your C4S. It looked gorgeous...even when it had mud and snow caked across it.
Looking at your pictures is what sealed the deal!
Actually, depending on supply and demand, quite a bit of money can be made by getting 1st on the list with downpayment of certain car models. I made $ 10K on re-selling the first 996 TT that came through a certain dealer in '01. You'd be surprised how many car junkies with big bucks are out there lurking for the next toy. Tax is tax deductible.
Hardly - I assume you're a newbie at Ferrari supply and demand economics.
The 360 Spiders were trading $25 - $50K above sticker during most of their life. Assuming he bought the car at MSRP from his dealer and flipped it two months later, at worst case he broke even, at best case he came out 10's of thousands of dollars ahead.
No joke.
RPM racing in Huntington do the 3m bit, good guys.
Rasta, now you gotta make it to the track with me, C4Ss are awsome out there, going to the glen on monday.
Chris
Great choice on the car, Rasta. Welcome to the C4S club
.
As to car cover, it depends on what you're looking for. I keep my car in the garage, so I bought a heavy all cotton custom cover to protect from dust and occasional garage bike bumps and whatnot in the winter. Not good for outdoors, wonderful for indoors with the best price.
Thanks very much for the welcome Palting. I've certainly enjoyed reading your posts, and look forward to continuing the dialogue with you. Love the shot of your C4S in your sig - great minds think alike, huh.
After searching the archives, I ordered a DusTop, as read people have had good experiences with it. My car sits in the garage as well, so need need for an outdoor car cover. Hopefully the cover arrives this weekend.
Despite the high potential for rain in the New York tri-state area tomorrow, look forward to putting a couple of hundred miles on it.
Best.
Jon -
Great meeting you yesterday. Love your ride. Definitely moving to the B&M short shifter after checking yours out.
We gotta get some more Tri-State runs going in the near future.
Keep in touch.
Vik.
