Used TNT (they subcontract to approved carriers) to transport my GT3 to and from Chicago for service this last winter.

I need a good shipper to go from Tampa, Florida to Eureka, Ca. I tried Intercity but they wanted $2100 and would only get as close as 200 miles away.
Can anybody on this forum help me find someone good but affordable?

Wow, InterCity must have a big backlog or something. I've used them several times in the past and they have always been competitive. I guess times have changed.
Your car is ment to be drivien. Take some time off and enjoy a nice drice across country. This is the best time of the year for it. Bring your camera and take lots of pictures. You will never regret it. Go alone too.
I shipped my car from PA to NM top load w/$100k insuarance enclosed $1600 Passport Transport. Door to door service. A division of Fedex. Car came 5 days early.
Mundman, Just checked Passport. $2300. It didn't say if it was covered and I didn't bother to ask.

Oh I got about ten quotes at once off a sight on yahoo. They run from $880 uncovered to around $1400 covered. As I said I will keep looking and trying to get a good reference for something in that price range.

The prices change daily. The high prices now I bet are b/c of fuel pricing. It has always been recommended that you use a shipper that does not use contractors and does not require upfront money!!!
I just drove my new 996 from West Virginia to Los Angeles, it was one of the most amazing things I have ever done, you really should take a week and enjoy an amazing ride. Check out these pics...
