Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello Board...general question.....if car is still under 4 year warranty....can you do minor maintaince yourself or local good garage rather than dealer???? Use dealer for major items and 15 or 30 K checkups???? Friend and I were varied in our opinion on the topic.....thanks

POST 2Original post

Dealer maintaining the vehicle is definately the better way to go in my opinion. First off, if you ever want to sell the car, you have a record of the car being taken car of. Secondly, say your engine takes a dump six months after your warranty is up. If you bring in the car and the only service history you have is minor warranty work, they're going to tell you to go **** up a rope. If you service the car at a dealership you stand at about 99.9% of a chance of them fixing it under warranty.
