Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Had a little time to do a Zymol-based tlc session while the Wife wasn't looking
; thought I'd take some pics and share (before it gets dirty again, something which on a black car takes an avg. 34 seconds or so...).
This is Waterboy-911 number 670 to roll off the Porsche factory, built in November 1997; actually quite a few 993's were still produced After this one was built.. Just hit 49.800Km's from new (about 31k miles), still feels pretty new.

Show me a North American built car that can still shine like that after 11 years !
She's a beautiful car, congrats on the great clean up job, all of you that are doing your own polishing to get rid of swirls are convincing me to try this myself.

Once you get the feel of the machine down-pat, it's just a methodical process. In retrospect, it's really quite easy and I would highly encourage anyone to take the plunge!

Looks great. So are you the original owner? Where are you located, is P for Portugal?
Did you replace the front and rear amber lenses?
What's up with the rear bumper, are those sensors?, and no bumperettes?
Sorry for all the questions, just wondering since it's such an early 996.
Cheers,
Dave
Yep, "P" for Portugal. I'm the 2nd Owner. The car was manufactured to Italian spec, where I bought it from the 1st owner (a well-off collector). Drove it back home; 2,500Km's; through the Italian, Monaco, and French Riviera, Through Spain, then Portugal. A well recommended drive on a P-Car !
The Front & Rear ambers were nuked by the first owner as soon as they were available as an option in '98.. Wheels were upgraded by C4S types in 2002.
Rear bumper has parking sensors; early 996 models like these had these rather odd, large sensors (I call them "Granma's overcoat buttons"). Bumperettes on P-cars are a US-imposition only. This is a ROW model, hence no bumperettes (phewww!).
Paint is still original! Ther front bumper and hood have the obvious stone-chip marks, and there's 3 or 4 small nicks and door dings here and there. But since this car still looks so great after all these years, I feel to repaint it will be to wipe off part of it's history.
Cheers,
