Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

here in Germany, maybe 69% of the rag-top drivers cruise around with the top down, and the side windows up. I just spent 2 weeks in my native land, North Carolina, and observed only 2 rag-top drivers ( many observed) cruising with the top down and the side windows up. I suspect this a character flaw and I need data. Regards, Chreese

POST 2Original post

Yes, top down and side windows up looks cheezy. All or nuthin'

+1. Even when it's 40 degress, top down = windows down.

I think the windows up defeats the whole top down experience. You are impling that in Germany the opposite occurs.

POST 5Original post

Well I live in Germany and drive with top down windows up and heater on between 65-72 deg. At least I am a wuss that can drive 150MPH with the top down.

POST 6Original post

Top down, windows down - that's what heated seats are for. -

POST 7Original post

Looks cool imho, I drive my '62 Bug Cab like that all the time, of course my '62 has chrome window frames which gives it a really different look. Typical German function over form: driver is insulated, heater is more effective, Autobahn speeds maintained. Great avatar btw.

POST 8Original post

Windows down - unless the wife complains about being cold (rare in Houston) or having mussed hair. I am surprised about the lack of buffeting with the windows up and the windscreen deployed.

POST 9Original post

I went to HS and college riding a series of motorbikes. Rain shine, thunderstorm, floods ( no snow where I grew up), I rode those bikes. On the convertible, it's heated seats, top down, leather jacket buttoned up, and... windows down. Windows up = WUSSy !!

POST 10Original post

Seattle in Spring aint that warm. Windows and deflector up gives up 4-5 months more topless time!

POST 11Original post

Top is down, my window is down and her window is up. Go figure.

POST 12Original post

When I had my S2000... top down, windows down!!

Well, it means window up is , as Ahhnold would say, girlie .

POST 14Original post

I don't currently own a cab...but in past cars with no top(30 years), windows were DOWN never up. Now however, my wife would have her window up without a doubt.

Ha! That's funny, on my way home from South Carolina I passed 4 Porsches within 2 minutes on I95. The Turbo Cabrio had his top and windows down, the two 944's were coupes but the 997 Cabrio and myself were closed up tight. As soon as I hit a traffic jam, I manned up and "popped the top" with windows down for 300 miles.. I didn't even use the windscreen.

POST 16Original post

Window's up only when the wife in riding shotgun, or the temp is 40F or less.

POST 18Original post

Apparently me three....When I'm alone, it's definitely windows down, with wifey, it's windows up.

POST 19Original post

Top down..windows down! My wife has no say in the matter!! I am no wuss! and whats up raid and pszikla...wife riding shotgun?? Where else is she going to ride??

A WIWU ( Wife In Windows Up) here ........ mine stays down til she gives me the stare down that her hair is messed up! Although she can be a good sport at times and wears a hat

POST 22Original post

My wife won't go in the car so its WIDP for me...like riad!

POST 23Original post

from 5 - 6pm today it was 92 degrees F driving from Phoenix to Tucson. At 6:20, I was wondering, as the car sensor still registered > 90 degrees, when is the *(&*(&*(## thermostat going to drop! I had the windows up initially with the cold AC blasting, but thought about what a wuss I was being, so I lowered the windows and raised the stereo volume, reduced the AC fan (because its irrelevant at 80MPH with windows down) sweated on the leather seat some, but thoroughly enjoyed my ride home!

POST 24Original post

how about top up and parked in my driveway under a cover!! I know I am a complete wusssssss!! BUT one more month and the baby girl is going to be 1yr.......and legally allowed to drive facing front......is she going to get the wind in her face with everything down!!!

POST 25Original post

Top-Down-Windows-Down EXCEPT when I get a call on the cell phone.... Windows then MUST go up for the duration b/c I can't hear a thing otherwise.... Oh yeah - my Speedster windows do little to cut down on the wind... -Blake
