But I find it funny that Prestige has several new TT's and used TT's along with 2 04 C4S's they can't seem to sell.

Suggestion
Most dealers will start you out way under the wholesale avg and work upward from there, but will rarely ever go beyond wholesale clean, unless they are getting absolute top dollar for the car you are buying.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is there anyone with experience in trading in a 02 C4S ? I'm thinking of trading mine in for a GT3 at a dealer and avoiding dealing with tire kickers and posers.
It has 9200 miles, Artic Silver/Black leather, xenons, bose, painted sport seat backs, rear wiper, painted crests, etc. and is in exceptional clean condition. How bad do you think I will get hurt at the dealer as opossed to selling it privately? Is the Kelley Blue Book guide accurate? If so 996's have really taken a hit since the 997 came out.

if you want the pricing guides that the dealers are looking at., nada.com isnt a bad guide either. Be prepared for the dealer to throw you a very low number first time around.
It's incredible when your buying at the dealer how hard you have to fight for a measely discount when a new or "hot" model comes out like the C4S in 2002. At the very least the dealers can give you a decent trade in value. They don't have to make ALL of their money on one deal. Low 50's seems to me to be absolutely disgusting.
Most dealers use the black book when purchasing cars and trade-in allowances, which the public doesn't generally have access to. I have a dealers licsense, although I haven't sold any cars for quite some time. December pricing for an 02 C4S is wholesale avg 57700, wholesale clean 61200. Loan value is 58850. Most dealers will start you out way under the wholesale avg and work upward from there, but will rarely ever go beyond wholesale clean, unless they are getting absolute top dollar for the car you are buying. This is really considered the only way for dealers to make a profit on trades. Incidentally, the black book offers very little for optional equipment, even on Porsches who charge way more than any other manufacturer for options. On the 02 C4S the only addition listed is $600 for navigation. It does, however, usually provide for deductions for the lack of certain features, but there are no deductions listed for the C4S. When pricing used cars, dealers will use NADA, KBB, or Edmunds, ie something the public can gain access to. These books do provide for additions for optional accessories, low mileage, etc.
It is always economically advantageous to sell your own car, then go buy what you want. But most people do not have the patience or the time to do that.
the C4S is a very highly desirable 996, more so than the TT i've found.. (lots of people don't want the power of the twin turbo, but want everything else it seems...) if you don't want to deal with tire kickers, put it on consignment at a lot.. they will gladly take it i'm sure, and park it upfront to attract attention to their dealership... instead of having a dealer insult you with their trade-in value...
