I would suggest either bleeding the brakes or changing the brake fluid to something more suitable for track usage.

It all depends on the thickness of the rotor, if within spec just change the pads otherwise the rotors will need to be replaced.

I would also think about using track pads that you can swap out for the road ones, something like pagid orange, blacks maybe, It really depends on your type of usage.

I bought my car 3 months ago with 30,000km (20k miles approx) on it, Ive put on another 4,000km. Have done 2 track days so far, previous owner did none. While on track last time my brakes got all mushy, so I assumed just brake fluid overheat, because when it cooled they were fine. Anyway, its at the shop and they need to change discs and pads. How often does one change the discs (rotors)? Pads I understand, but isn't it a bit early for the discs?

You must have damaged the rotors, or they were ground down in the past. Always make sure you have plenty of pad before hitting a long (>1.5mi track). Consider track pads in the future, or at least new pads each 'season'.

I would suggest either bleeding the brakes or changing the brake fluid to something more suitable for track usage. I would also think about using track pads that you can swap out for the road ones, something like pagid orange, blacks maybe, It really depends on your type of usage. Before you track the car do you get it tech inspected? The last you want is an emergency anchor that you can throw out of the window in case all else fails

It all depends on the thickness of the rotor, if within spec just change the pads otherwise the rotors will need to be replaced. I would strongly suggest ATE Super Blue racing brake fluid, or equivalent, and track pads. A world of difference.
