Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

All, So in my attempt to learn to shift better, I created an Excel sheet that calculates RPM->Speed and Speed->RPM in various gears based on your gearing and tire size. I figure that I share it with everyone here since I've gotten a lot of help here. If anyone has any feedback, that'd be much appreciated too! --befast

POST 5Original post

Interesting chart. Top speed in 6th at 7000rpm is 182mph more realistic compare to factory claim of 177mph. I have done over 100mph in 3rd and was wondering why Road & Track had different results for the 02 996 C2. I have also seen time as low as 10.9sec from 0-100 and slower times of 12sec. The shifting from 3rd to 4th to achive 0-100 time is significant.

Remember, the top speed of a car is not that often limited by gearing. More often, it's about Cd and horsepower. That 177, if true, could just be about more air piling up in front of the car than the engine has the power to move.
