Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Previously I had used the lug nut wrench that came with my X5 with no issues till I found out the original Porsche one is missing.

Did you check inside the pouch that is on the inside of the fabric spare wheel cover?

You might check the option sticker to see if someone wrote down the number.

They use 11 different subtypes on 996 cars, you'll need your VIN# to order the right one.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So I was going through the 996 tool set and noticed it does not have the tool socket to get the wheel lug nuts off. Anyone know the part # to that so I can order one?
Thanks.
MiCkEy
Are you missing the standard lug socket, or the anti-theft socket. Did you check inside the pouch that is on the inside of the fabric spare wheel cover?
Missing the standard anti-theft socket. And yeah checked the inside of the wheel well as well as the pouch. The pouch has the usuals, the screw driver, the tool to loosen the headlight assembly, the little steel bar to keep the wheel in place once mounted etc etc.
Thanks.

There are 30 different wheel lock keys. Guess someone used it and did not put it back in the car.
You might check the option sticker to see if someone wrote down the number. If not then take the car to a dealer and they will match it and can order you a replacement. They are made by McGard but not shown on McGard's site.
Or, have the locking wheel bolts removed and replace them with standard bolts.
Ok I may have confused all. The tool I was referring to was the normal type used to take the Non-locking wheel nuts off. Previously I had used the lug nut wrench that came with my X5 with no issues till I found out the original Porsche one is missing. Here is what I got (picture below)
Hopefully someone would know the part number for that lug nut wrench "thingy". Earlier I had meant to say the non-anti-theft socket. My mistake...(case of the Sundays)
Mickey, in my first post I said "Did you check inside the pouch that is on the inside of the fabric spare wheel cover?"
I should have said check the
pocket
that is in the center of the fabric cover for the spare wheel.
Ok, I can see your wheel lock key.
You are missing the 2 tools in the picture, which is my Boxster.
PET has these 2 tools listed but there are no part numbers next to the listing. So you may not be able to order replacements from Porsche.
