Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

(P.S Hi to all the old gang..have not been here in a while...)

POST 3Original post

Hello, We have a brand new spring hub center clutch disc that goes with the lightweight flywheel assembly. The problem with the setup before is the clutch discs available were all rigid hub to go with the dual mass flywheel. which made for alot of noise at idle. This is the newest hot set up for 996's. The lightweight flywheel is a beautiful aluminum piece with a steel wear surface. It is a wonderful upgade to the 996. You can go to our new website and purchase the kit with a sport pressure plate for more bite, or a stock pressure plate. A good way to tell the condition of the clutch is to notice the release point of it. When a clutch is new, the release point is closer to the floor , meaning as you pull your foot up from the floor starting from a stop light, the car will start to move when the pedal is close to the floor. As the clutch wears the pedal will get higher in the travel. Eventually the clutch will start to slip under load, and this is when you must replace it. I hope this answers your question. www.mindovermotorsports.com Chris Shaffer
