Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The sunroof moves really slowly and occassionally just stops and I have to press the switch again. Would some WD40 on the sunroof rail help things or is the motor on the way out? thanks Nick

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone with any thoughts Whenever I press the close button the sunroof stops half way or when its just about to close properly then opens up again????

POST 3Original post

same problem here. Would be interested in opinions

POST 4Original post

And the model year of your car is??? There is a TSB that introduced a new sunroof motor/assembly in Feb 1999. You might also try "re-teaching" the sunroof here

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mine is a registered April 1999 UK car - should have new assembley???

POST 6Original post

Not the registration date but the "build" date. Check the sticker on your drivers side door for the build date.

POST 7Original post

Mine is a 2001 and I have a similar problem. It gets about half way closed and reverses itself. I'm worried that some day it won't close period.

POST 8Original post

OK, did the learning thing and relearning thing, as Loren my Bay Area colleague suggested. Nothing changed. It's little tiny brain did not seem to recognize that I was trying to heal its maladies. Continued on doing the same stupid slow opening, slow closing, stopping in the middle. Anyone else have any suggestions?

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes the teaching method worked. But only after a 2nd time. Try it again....
