Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

After having my clutch pressure plate T/O bearing and slave cylinder replaced about 4k miles ago the peddle seems to be getting stiffer than when it was new.
Leading evidence: 'Replace about 4k miles ago the peddle seems' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check pluck it out and look at it' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Just remembering how it seemed ( soft ) when it was replaced now its feeling like it did just before the pressure plate spring broke.

A tech will often note this as they are in and out of new and used cars all the time.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After having my clutch pressure plate T/O bearing and slave cylinder replaced about 4k miles ago the peddle seems to be getting stiffer than when it was new. Is this normal? All new SACS parts used factory replacements.
Never replaced a clutch in my Porsches but I did install a new clutch in one car and in another the dealer installed a new clutch and in both cases the replacement clutches behaved as did the factory new clutch.
Among other things there should not be an increase in pedal pressure required.
Generally a marked increase in pedal pressure is indicative of a worn clutch.
But the pedal pressure change comes over a period of time and often an owner doesn't realize the pedal effort has gone up. A tech will often note this as they are in and out of new and used cars all the time.
For the pedal pressure to increase in a short time could be due to clutch wear, exceptional clutch wear. I take you are not a clutch abuser?
If the answer is no then the clutch could just be bad -- the friction material soft (defective) and the clutch prematurely wearing out -- or there is some mechanical linkage or hydraulic system issue that accounts for the increase in pressure required.
Or the clutch is not releasing properly and there is dragging on the input shaft splines as you move the clutch pedal. Does the car shift ok?
My advice would be to take the car back to where you had the clutch work done and get an opinion on the clutch pedal pressure and if it is real then ask the issue be investigated. It could be due to as I touched upon above a bad clutch but it could be something not directly related to the clutch job but with the linkage or hydraulics.

Look at #9, helper spring, don't pull it out until you put a pin/nail etc thru the hole in the shaft.
no play in the pedal just about 30% stiffer than when it was new. Just remembering how it seemed ( soft ) when it was replaced now its feeling like it did just before the pressure plate spring broke.
Its my wife's car and PLEASE before the " she does not know how to drive it remarks " she has ONLY owned manual shift cars and the first clutch did not fail due to wear, the spring broke on the pressure plate. Her 82 wide body had 96K mi and 8 years before it needed a clutch. The car shifts fine there is no play when the pedal is low it grabs when its about 1 1/2 inches up from the floor board. Just the effort has increased and she has not realized it much. I noticed it mostly because those things are like an extension of my body the touch the feel the slight shake from the right rear tire in your right butt cheek, that's how I am. If it is the helper can they slowly go bad or just pop and its done. I do recall an ever so slight squeak on clutch depression. That is now gone..... thanks for the help
They all looked ok this was my first first look at a 996 set up there was a broken spring on the pressure plate and the car had 43K miles on it it is a 2004
The helper spring can break in the middle-end or.... The squeak is on indication that it isn't centered in the can. Could be broken, weak cocked... ?? Simple to check pluck it out and look at it. Remember pin it before you yank it out. If you do, it will just about fall out when you press the clutch.
