Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I drove a 2000 C2 with an air box and it opened up the sound a bit on the stock exhaust. Is it worth the $225 or so for the do it yourself upgrade for my 1999 C2? I was told that on a 1997 Turbo, the owner just removed the stock airbox, drilled out the undersite with 1 inch holes, replaced it and had the same effect.
If you drill holes in the air box, you are just going to introduce hot air from the engine compartment. I would think that is counter-productive for performance.
You really want cold air from the spoiler/intake.
you hear more intake noise. kinda like an aftermarket airbox (they say). I also found the low end response a little quicker... less air to move from lower to higher speed. I'm sure I paid for that somewhere else in the powerband.
