Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Should i use Spacers for my 205/255 (F/R) 17 inch snow tires on the boxster/early carrera wheels? If so, Why? My non winter set up is 2002 5 spoke 225/285 18's. Car is 2002 C2. Thanks Jeff

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

BTW, I ran them all last winter with no problems, but the car was definitely more tossable. Will the spacers make it feel more like the 18 inch set up with regards to stability? Thanks Again Jeff

POST 3Original post

Spacers will make a very smalll difference in the stability of the car. How thick are you thinking of going?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was only thinking of 5 mm. If it won't make a difference in the drive, i will probably not do it. The 5 spoke wheels definitely look better, but with the wheels inset a little more, i figure less rocks/sand getting thrown up on the car outside of the wheel wells. Also, amazing how much smoother 17 inch rubber rides. Thanks

POST 5Original post

5mm spacers aren't going to make any difference in the handling of the car.

POST 7Original post

I think the 17's look too recessed in the car without spacers.
