I've been trying to get the squeeks out of my doors on my Convertible. The dealer made them better but not completely gone. My question is, should the doors on a convertible be squeek free, or is this not possible? Should I push for perfection, or is this impossible based on the rigidity factor? I'm being told that the noise is occuring where the door and the body latch. Thanks,

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What year is your cab?
No door squeaks at all on my 2000 with 48K miles. It must not be inevitable.
no squeaking on mine - 2000 with 40,000 miles - did the car ever have any damage? I wouldn't worry about perfection here if all else is well with the car.
Did the dealer align the door strike plate? That'd be the most obvious way to fix it. Lube the hinge and latch also
Thanks for the responses. My car is a 2002. I fixed it today with electrical tape on the door strike bar. The "hoop" looking one on the body. The noise is coming from the metal to metal contact between the door latch and the "hoop" on the body. The dealer filed it down al ittle, which didn't work. The dealer also said he's knocked the hoop down with a hammer before. I ain't lettin him hit mine with a hammer!!!!!Electrical tape broke the contact and removed the noise. I'm sure the tape wont last, but for today its quiet. The car has never been in an accident or had the doors removed, to my knowledge. Any lasting ideas would be appreciated. THanks
Glad you solved your problem to the door. Are roof "creaks" standard, or has anyone resolved this???
