Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
You'll get another set of prices, most likely the best you will get for your area at that point in time.
Leading evidence: 'best you will get' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best you will get' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

That sounds like a pretty attractive discount on a C4S.
If anything you may save 1k with someone else.
Which is more important - 1k or a dealer you can develop
a relationship with?
What's high, the discount or the residual price?
Discounts vary by region, as demand and supply varies by region. My best advice to you would be to canvass the dealers in your area. You will get a set of prices. The canvassing lets all the dealers know you are seriously looking for the best prices. When you are ready to buy, have your checkbook out, call them again, and tell them you are ready to deal right there and then. You can tell them you've already made the preliminary rounds, and are now looking for the dealer that wants to sell a car. You'll get another set of prices, most likely the best you will get for your area at that point in time.
If you deal with the dealers in a sincere and up-front manner, no one will fault you for going with the best price. You may, however, get better service when the time comes if the car came from the same dealer as the one giving the service.
5K off BTO C4s....using Cartelligent and ordered through Fleet department (John Bordman sp?) at Beverly Hills Porsche. Also, no flinching on the sunroof delete either.
There was a better deal to be had, but it would have meant shipping across country which would have negated the extra discount.
This was when 6 months or more wait for the C4s a year and a half ago. I suspect you can get better discount now since the 996 is at the end of its ropes.
You will get more of a discount for a car sitting on the dealer's lot. If you have to order a new one it's less of an incentive for the dealer to discount, so I'm not sure if you want to order a new one or look around for one that a dealer has.
