I just bought a 1999 with 29k miles, 18" factory wheels, TechArt exhaust, Eibach lowering springs, carbon fiber interior, paint and interior so clean I could not believe it, upgraded stereo, LSD for $32,500.

It's not an issue other than the seats have been used more, the interior will show more use, etc, etc.

Back from a month in Africa and time to resume shopping as my G35 goes back soon...still not sure whether the new car will be a G35/993/996. This 996 is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for for a 996 though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true Would a PPI change at all for a 996 with that many miles on it? Do I need to worry more about cars from New Jersey? I've noticed that Quebec and New Jersey seem to be massive havens for rebuilt/salvage cars (weird laws in those territories?).

Brock -- that's a really pretty car. The 996 looks great in black. I think I paid "fair market value." No two buyers are the same, but if you are patient I think you can find one with half the miles on it from a private party and get the right price. Jack

It is...but all of the 993s I've been looking at have 60-80k and noone seems to think that's an issue.

Most of the 996's I've seen have less than 40k miles. 993's are older. It's not an issue other than the seats have been used more, the interior will show more use, etc, etc. Of course, you pay more for a lower milage car.

The miles are high for the price. If you could get it down into the twenties, it could be worth a shot. The cars can certainly handle being used like this. My '02 just went through 74000 miles
