Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261026T174436Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am in need of some parts for my car DME, Alarm etc. and the person wants my VIN # because this is how he can search using microfiche. It just makes me alittle nervous giving it out or am I paranoid.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey what's up still trying to gather parts for the project along with getting the lock out of the car! This guy sells new parts and I guess it's OK. Yea when I joined this forum somehow the name Mother could not be used so my car is named GULF V1 like the 1970's LaManns movie with Steve McQueen just some trivia on me.

POST 4Original post

I am a certified Porsche Parts Professional and the guy asking for your VIN is doing his job. There are a few different options for the DME in your car and he needs to run the VIN to make sure he gets the right one. If he is a reputable guy it will be okay. Its better that he gets the right DME box the first time. if not Porsche 9 times out of ten will not take back the wrong part of its an electrical part. So give him the VIN to get the rigth BOX Brandon J
