Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In an effort to do the Pep Boys Mod I tried to put a jack stand under the back of the car by jacking up the front REALLY high. I never could get it up high enough (aka, I chickened out) and ended up moving the jack to back of the car and proceeding without a stand. Well, after jacking the front of the car up as high as I feld comfortable (around 18") and then letting it back down - it seems that something in the front of the cabin is now loose. This is more like a creaking sound than a rattle. I suppose it could be the winshield itself, could be a wire bundle, or could be some ductwork. Has anyone encountered this? If so, did you fix it? Thanks, -td

POST 2Original post

huh.......you jack the back not the front for the exhaust

POST 3Original post

td I don't know if this will help or not but you might want to check the headlights to make sure they are tight. It happened to me once when I put the car on jackstands to install exhaust and wheel spacers. After the install and road test I had a rattle from the front of the car and couldn't find it. When I put my hand on the headlight to check under the car again the light moved. Tightened it up and noise was gone.
