Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone tell me if part number 996.512.903.00 (rear cabriolet wing) is compatible with all 996 narrow body cars? My dealer is telling me that the wing is listed as 1998 to 2001 but he doesn't know why (other than a guess that the new wing is the GT3 style wing as a replacement). Does anyone know if this wing will work with all model year stock decklids as it is intended? I guess the correct question to ask is were there any changes to the rear decklid from 2002 and up model cars? If not, I don't see why the wing wouldn't work (epecially since I've seen 2002, 2003 cars with it). Thanks,

POST 2Original post

Can't answer yur question but my dealer said he can't sell the Cab rear spoiler without also selling me the front pu to go with it.

POST 3Original post

In order for aerodynamic stability with the 996 Carrara rear wing Porsche did install a small wind deflector about 12" in under the front bumper. I would imagine that dealers have some sort of warning about welling the wing w/o this piece. From what I can tell, the Carrara Rear Spoiler is the same for the Cab and Coupe. I believe these are the numbers for that assembly: 000.044.8-2-04: "Rear Spoiler 01-, comprising:" 996-512-903-00 Spoiler (1) 996-512-907-00 Flange (2) 996-631-980.00 Stoplamp (1) 996-504-980-00 Plug for original stoplamp (this may be included with the new stoplamp assembly listed above.) There is no mention of the small front spoiler with this assembly. I'm 99% sure these are the correct numbers. The PET catalog is very confusing as to pre-01 and 01 and beyond. Maybe Loren can double check these numbers!

POST 4Original post

Decklid bolt pattern is diff. for 2003's 99-02 will all be the same coupe and cab

The Carrera rear spoiler, designed exclusively for all 911 Carrera models is a fixed-wing rear spoiler that replaces the standard electrically operated spoiler of both Coup and Cabriolet . Package also includes a front lip for vehicles produced from August 2001 onwards.

POST 6Original post

Does anyone know if it is possible to put the new GT3 aerokit onto a 2003 cab? that woud look awesome.. Chucksta

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the information guys. I won't bother with the front aerodnamic piece as I will be installing a new GT3 nose. I picked up a wing yesterday (for a great deal) and am getting it painted as we speak. I should have my car sometime at the end of this week so hopefully the wing and nose will be ready to install.

POST 9Original post

I have the gt3 aero kit on my 03 cab with the techquipment wing chucksta -

POST 10Original post

I believe this is your car? If so, that is the Carrera rear wing. Not the GT3 aerokit wing.

POST 12Original post

I have a 996 cup wing and decklid for sale if you are interested, it is from a factory cup car and is all fiberglass, painted white. Like new, 1100. [email removed]

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I ended up getting as great deal on a Cabriolet Tequipment wing (as pictured in Viken's car above) but thank you for the offer. What Cup wing is it, the 1999-2000 GT3 wing as per my current car? Do you have pics that you can post? I have a friend who may be interested.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry. I didn't realize that you drive a 993. What the hell are you doing on this board? Are you a wanna-be water-cooled freak?

POST 15Original post

Yes, when I grow-up, I hope to drive a water-cooled car like you guys.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh, don't tell me that you're insulted or hurt by my joke. The truth is that we are the ones who have air-cooled envy. Justy pull the front to back driveshaft out of your car. Who needs all wheel drive in L.A?

POST 17Original post

Of course not, I am just not good in using smiley's in my posts with jest. No offense taken and, please keep joking...

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK. As long as we remain good friends. There are a few really nice 993s in Toronto. What have you done to your ride (if anything)?

POST 19Original post

You will find some details here . Since then, I've added factory hollow spoke wheels from the 993 Turbo and Bilstein HD shocks.
