Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Cold or hot, it doesn't really matter that much despite what the manual says, just make sure all the oil has drained down to where you check the level.

Did you let the car sit a few hours after shutdown before checking the oil on a level surface?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Since I came back from Vegas.. traveling with those high speeds, the car felt funny. When I checked the oil level in the instrument panel the nite I came back, the bottom bar was blinking. Is that normal?
My car only has 2800 miles on it. And just last night I added half a bottle of Mobil 1.. then I drove around and check.. it came up one bar after the engine cools down a bit. So i add another 1/4 bottle. How often do you guys add your own oil? and is it normal to add that much oil in such situation? thanks in advance!
New cars before break-in will have a tendency to burn oil until all the valves, piston rings, etc get bedded in.
Check the oil level on a flat surface after all the oil has drained down. Cold or hot, it doesn't really matter that much despite what the manual says, just make sure all the oil has drained down to where you check the level. I usually check mine in the am with the car sitting level in my garage. Keeping the conditions constant each time you check is more important than the absolute level mark.
If you started with normal full level in Vegas, now with level down to where the light is blinking, I would say you are burning too much oil. However, there may be a question of what was the original level you started with. I would suggest filling it up to full level, then keep a close eye on it from this point.
It should read at the "full" mark, when cold. did you check the dipstick? my '00 doesn't burn any oil between changes, and I get the "full" life out of my mobil 1.........
