And NiveK is right about changing color on interior parts.

The '03 cab tip that I just picked up listed for $91K and change for a hair under $84K

Of course, we here at BumperPlugs.com can paint your console aluminum look, as with other parts, or you can change many of the plastic parts out for carbon fiber - which looks stunning in a black car.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm about to trade in my Audi for a 2002 996 C2. I can't decide between a coupe or a cab, not like its a bad decision, they are both great cars obviously.
They both have low miles 12K for the coupe, 6K for the cab. What is a good BASE price for each?
I can work up the options, but I'd like to get an idea on where to start.
One thing holding me back on the coupe is the interior. It's black on black. Normally I like black, but it seems to monochromatic. Is there any way to break it up w/ aftermarket parts?
Also, the cab doesn't have the hardtop, is it possible to get one somewhere for winter months (on non-snow days of course!)?
I appreciate any help on this. Thanks
my cab has a hardtop, and i painted all the interior trim pieces the same color as my car white, as far as price goes id look in the paper and see what they are selling for in your area
I ended up getting a new '03 last Saturday, but in the process also found an '02 cab tip, seal grey/black, 17K miles, The options inluded litronics, windstop, upgraded hifi, that listed around $85K new. The dealer was asking 68900 and would probably have let it go for $67K.
I like the cab just for the option of top down, (also living in San Diego makes it an easier choice). You should be able to find owners around the US that are interested inselling their hardtops.
Good Luck
I've seen h'tops for sale on ebay, going for 5-600. Base price on a 2002 C4 Cab was $83,200 (Cab h'top was a $1465 delete option from 83,200). Don't know difference between C2 and C4 Cab tho.
Personally I would get the Cab and get a h'top somewhere. I think it offers more versatility, and has a unique but definitely "Porsche" look to it. Plus with the hardtop on you can lower all 4 windows, so you get coupe comfort with the flexibility. And NiveK is right about changing color on interior parts. Easy to do.
Also, you could pick up a copy of Excellence Magazine and AutoWeek.
Oh and by the way
WELCOME TO RENNLIST!
As for breaking up the interior on a black car, there are numerous options. Of course, we here at BumperPlugs.com can paint your console aluminum look, as with other parts, or you can change many of the plastic parts out for carbon fiber - which looks stunning in a black car.
I, on the other hand, relish the idea of top down - that's why I drive a 996 Cab. Go for the cab!
Pricing should be available through Edmunds.com
The carbon fibre on the interior of my blk/blk works wonderfully to break it up. A little pricey, but very slick. Shifter, doorsills, center consel, vents, etc can all be done - as much or as little as you like. I've seen the solid silver too, and it looks nice - more contrast than the carbon fibre though, so make sure you see it before you do it.
