Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I would steer clear from using heat but an impact gun...why not.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So... On my 03 C4S I was attempting to replace the motor mounts. Similar symptoms as others, vibration etc.
got the car up on stands and jack, however I'm unable to loosen the 18mm nuts Rusted pretty good, both of them. I tried some gentle heat but then thought about it and stopped.
I've soaked them pretty good with pbblaster and will try again tomorrow.
Not a total loss, cleaned TB, replaced drive belt etc.
Question: suggestions on how to remove the rusted nuts ? Small torch for heat ok ? Impact wrench ?
I have honestly never heard of a rusty mount. I would steer clear from using heat but an impact gun...why not. If you can get a cut off tool up you could cut the thing off. Good luck!
Try again as you say tomorrow, then blast it again as often as possible. If the actual nut is still intact and not rusted away, it will give eventually. Even try it clockwise a smidgers. That may loosen it up. Get a breaker bar on it. I think it's 63pound/foot. I just remembered something when I changed mine recently. When I was waiting for them to be delivered, I doused mine a few times and was damned if they would turn until I give it the 63 lb/ foot with the torsion bar and I heard a loud short squeal. That told me they had moved. They squealed more until a full turn was gained. So don't give up. Keep dousing them with PB blaster and they will eventually give. If they do not and break, nothing is lost. Loosen the top ones and buy another nut for the new ones. Make sure that you have taken up the weight of the engine on the floor jack. Good luck.
If the bottom nut does not come out, the rod/pin will eventually unscrew from the mount itself.
It happened to me on the passenger side. I had to remove the bottom nut from the rod in a vise, which worked out well enough. Good luck!
Thanks for the input guys. Outcome update. One bolt was so rusted I had to replace it.
Previously this baby lived in New England so many of the undercarriage bolts are corroded.
I did not need the full arsenal of weapons for an assault, heat etc.. another overnight PBlaster soak and then the 1/2 inch pry bar and pipe worked well.
A few days of driving now and it was definitely needed. Her big *ss does not jiggle nearly as much, traffic lateral movements are excellent and yes all the other benefits too: no seat vibration, crisper shifting etc.
