Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, Does anyone know if its possible to remove the front complete strut without have to remove the driveshaft and the whole wheel carrier? Any advice appreciated. cheers

POST 2Original post

You can do it but you need to loosen up the bolts that hold the differential (pumpkin) onto chassis. The first is strut will be tough to get out. Watch for scratching the fender lip and make sure you don't rip the CV boots. Once one is out the other side is easy. It will be like a teeter totter. That is how I did the X74 switch. Good Luck!

POST 3Original post

I guess he means the axle shaft? If your that far, you may as well rebuild the axles and replace the boots. Surely a 99 would have cracked ones? (unless their new)
