I would want someone with tons of tire industry experience to tell me a repaired tire retains its speed rating before I trusted it.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys, I have a set of Hankook tires with plenty of tread left on them. One of the rears is losing about 5 psi per week. Would you recommend taking the car to a tire ship, or worth trying to fix myself? I'm planning to take the tire off tomorrow and look for any punctures, also read it could be a leaky valve stem.
Thanks,
Chris

Fix it yourself? Bold. I would take it to whoever sold you the tires, or if they were on it when you bought it take it to a reputable tire shop..I'm guessing nail or valve stem.
Good Luck,
DS
Yeah, planning to take it to a shop this morning. Just hoping this doesn't end up with me needed a new set of rear tires... This car has ended up being quite a bit more to maintain than I expected...
I would want someone with tons of tire industry experience to tell me a repaired tire retains its speed rating before I trusted it. I've had a tire go down at high speed. I don't recommend it.
Hey CJ,
I had the same problem on a 993 with factory wheels. My tire shop finally fixed it....corrosion on the wheel rim where the tire bead seals. Took the tire off, cleaned up the corrosion, remounted, no problem since.
