Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So last month I was picking my kids up at daycare. Parked on the street behind a minivan. No big deal. When I came back outside, the owner of the minivan was holding up my license plate! She backed into me, ripping the plate off and dragging it across the hood! I ended up replacing the hood and resurfacing the entire bumper. $2000 later my car looked better than the day I bought it! No rock chips whatsoever. Thankfully I didn't have to pay a dime. It was a very bad time - my loaner car was a Taurus. Not quite the same.
To make matters worse, 2 days ago, a guy I work with slammed his car door into the RF quarter panel! I've only had the car back for a week! So that has been fixed (at his cost, again) but they say bad things happens in 3's. Any bets as to what will happen next? Collision? Ticket? Man, I've only had the car for 5 months.
At least it didn't cost ME anything...
Bummer! Sorry to hear that.
First day I had my 911 I took my wife out for dinner, we were sitting next to the window having a drink and a guy in a big Suburban with a very large trailer hitch pulls in to parallel and I kept saying to my wife, that hitch is going to hit my car, that hitch is going to hit my car. He hit it good enough to move my car. Direct hit to the bumper plug. He looked in his mirror and saw what he did and then moved his vehicle forward a few feet and wallked away very quickly laughing to his wife. They were both laughing when I met them in the lobby of the restaurant. They denied it and I said I'm calling the police unless they give me their insurance info...he said something to the sort of "bug off". I walked away and started dialing my cell. They were seated and a few minutes later he came over and dropped a business card off and said he would pay for any damage and said he was sorry for being an ***. Later in the evening when we were about to leave our waitress said our bill was taken care of by the man who hit my car. Bill was $100.00 - Bumper Plug was $20. I paid for the plug.
True, true.
And the hitch story... motherfuqin b-a-s-.... you showed some resolve, man. I bet you he would've walked away if you weren't there to witness it. Worthless POS.
It is funny how inconsiderate people are at parking in the tri-state area. My friends 993 got bumper tapped so hard that it bent and scratched his hood. Frankly, the worst on the Queens drivers; they are downright reckless. Indeed, every time I am forced to drive on the BQE (which is never if I can help it), I go to DefCon 1 and focus focus focus. Every other Accord, minivan, or riced out racer seems to drive like the car was just stolen. I see a license plate frame that reads "Bayside" and I pull the ejector seat.
Too many people have a "screw-you' attitude towards others it's sad... sadly it's the reason why I'm selective where I drive my p-car.
I called in at the mall on the way home today to pick up a new case for a trip I'm taking this evening. I parked out of the way in a mostly empty lot. I had a traffic island to my left so that any car parking at the side of me would have their passenger side to my driver's side. Some **** backed into the spot at the side of me to have their driver's side towards my driver's side. Tell me what goes through their minds?!?! Thankfully he was far enough away that there's no way his door touched my paint.
Doesn't matter how far out of the way you are in LA some nugget always parks next to you. I'd be happy if that person was courteous enough to leave a big gap!
Also people backing in take a little more care, its the ones that drive straight in skew whiff, squeezing into a spot that you have to worry about.
I have to admit, when I was younger I would intentionally park next to some nice car that was parked in the boonies. Just to bug the guy. I was always very careful. I never wanted to harm the car, just irritate the guy. Teenagers. Whatcha gonna do? Now I'm the one with the Porsche. The circle of life...
Yes, I was that guy. Feel free to hate me now.
good story - sorry you had to deal with the jackass but at least you saw it happen. jsut think how aften that kind of thing happens and people get away with it.....karma, man, karma
Where I park the only one who can hit my car is my wife when she opens the door to her car before she backs out of the garage. And she is REALLY careful.
I tell you man, I don't think it's a malicious thing. Most people are natural followers. People hate to think it since we're such "advanced humans", but we're a pack species with a heirarchy just like any other dog/mammal. I mean, think about it, we walk around basically following what our leaders tell us and that's what makes things work. So, I just think it's a comfort in crowds thing...sort of like how you sit around at the end of a movie and no one moves until 1 or 2 people start to leave, and then everyone does.
What I generally try to do in parking lots is just what you did...find a barrier one side and HOPE for the best. Then again, I hate to say it, but it is just a car.
