Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

hindsight being 20/20, i'd only buy used from a dealer that can offer the 100k inclusion.
Leading evidence: 'Use from a dealer' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace anything and will just detract' (1 discussions). Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just bought a 2003 C4S for $ 70,000 with 9,000 miles, car extremely fresh and looks great, silver on black and loaded.......think it was good price considering the condition. Had dealer replace all tires. They originally wanted $ 78,000. Have original warranty and extra 2 years......basically covered for 100,000.
What are "PCCB" or "RMS" (rear main seal?) issues and any other MAJOR things that I should look for under warranty.
I have a 1995 993 Cab, dealt with typical issues there, which were few since it is a 95 with OBD 1 which is less of an issue than II. Car is solid.... This 996 is new to me.....
thanks for any information, good and the bad........Andrew B.
PCCB: ceramic brakes, which you don't have.
RMS: rear main seal, which can leak. The true extent of this failure is unknown as Porsche has not released these figures. You cannot prevent it and it will not result in an engine failure as long as you keep the oil levels to spec. It may or may not be able to be fixed and can result in an engine change if the engine has been built out of spec. Most of us don't worry about it and just enjoy our cars.
There are no other "major" issues that come up regularly with the 996 as it is still a new model and Porsche owners are still busy putting miles on their cars. I've got 15,000 miles on my car without any problems except for a noisy CD player and broken passenger window switch, both of which will get addressed at the service.
Unless you drive ALOT, the 100K Miles is a misnomer. You actually have your warranty (full warranty) 4 years to the date of inservice then another 2 after than. So, if your 03 was bought in fall of 02 (by the original owner), then your full warranty goes through 06 and the extended goes to 08. Porsche stating 100K is quite comical since you rarely ever see a P-car get to 100K in 6 years (roughly 16.5K a year). Or in your case with 9K on the clock, you would need to drive 81K in the next 4 years. OUCH!
Other than that, congrats on the new car! By the way, which dealer to you purchase from?

hindsight being 20/20, i'd only buy used from a dealer that can offer the 100k inclusion. or, a private car with a trasferable 3rd party warranty to 100k miles. i put 40k miles on my 996 in the last yr alone. porsches that actually get driven, are not as rare as you think
Hey congratulations on the car.!
Personally (and I may be just a little bit biased here) I think the C4S is the best looking car of the bunch. It drives great, makes a great sound (particularly with the PSE) and is very easy to live with. I bought mine this summer and have put about $1k per month on it so far it is my pick me up in the morning and my little oasis at the end of the dayunless the wife is feeling frisky, but now I am over-sharing.
Dont worry about the car - it is a modern car and problems should be minimal. Worrying about things wont change anything and will just detract from the enjoyment. Drive it like it was meant to be driven and if anything untoward happens there is always the search feature on Rennlist. Just make sure you avoid any posts by BobPorsche and you will be fine.

Bought car from HBL Vienna Virginia.....got them to put new tires on rear......................I will drive the car about 15k per year....and plan to enjoy !!!!
Thanks for all the kind words from the board. I have had more than a dozen people tell me that they prefer the C4S 996 look to the 997 or 997S, no comments on handling comparison......some were unsolicited........interesting......I bought as much Porsche as I could afford........I bought this model because of the resale history of the 993 C4S, but I believe that the 996 version is more plentiful and the resale value will not be as strong..........guess we'll all see, but in the meantime, I WILL ENJOY !!
i bought my 964 with 100.000 klms.....sold it after 4.5 years with 387.000 klms.
(387.000 - 100.000) / 4.5 = 67.000 klms per year.....
so warranty is not what could save me ......
