Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Then for reasons I don't know, they "went out of business" and changed their name to Riverside.
Leading evidence: 'Replace their name' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'repaint' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean (which is good first step)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Can you guys give me your thoughts on this '01 TT.

Is it a good value? The asking price is low, but I'm concerned about the high mileage. Opinions appreciated. Thanks
When did 34000 miles on a 4 year old car become high mileage? I have more problems with the color and low price. The question I would be trying to answer is why is this car so cheap?
Have you called the AUdi dealer and inquired? If it is an Audi dealer they may also have a P-car dealer and if they are willing to CPO it then I would give is serious thought.
hmmm.... check it out in person... see if there are rock chips on the front bumper cover and hood... if there isn't you know it has been painted... and if has been painted then there is a good possibility the miles have been rolled back.... very VERY common of Porsches sold at NON porsche dealerships... see if you can get all the service records as well... if they don't have any or they are mininal... well.. you know the deal....
CarFax is clean (which is good first step). According to CarFax, this car was lease car in FL for three years then sold at an auction. Price is low but I don't think it's outrageous given the mileage and season. It's probably worth looking at. As LVDell pointed out, CPO would be must add though.
It appears that they have other Porsche's in stock, so maybe they arent unfamiliar with them. That price seems a bit low, even for that mileage. If it checks out in person though, it could be a great deal.
A carfax will give you some semblance of chronological order of any major service, registration (w/ mileage) etc... Seeing a realistic and believable list that makes sense can squash any worries of tampering with the mileage. With the repaint, I would be more concerned with an accident that is being masked more than mileage tampering. That black should show some slight (normal) road damage, i.e., rock chips. If not, it is probably a repaint. Some P-car owners have the nose-piece repainted to keep it looking new (as rock chips start stacking up), so this is not an automatic assumption of an accident, but a good possibility.
I would:
1. get a carfax
2. test drive it (if can - can't remember if you're in that area or not?)
3. get a complete analysis done by an authorized Porsche service center ($100-$150 - well worth it)
4. get it checked at the best body shop you can find in the area - especially if it has been repainted
And I don't consider the price to be quite that low. TT prices have been slumping a little and most of them have not been driven that much (many will have 5k - 15k miles). They can be had in the $80's. So this one, when compared to other TT's for sale, would be a "higher mileage" TT. I would try to find out how long they've had it. If for quite a while, perhaps they're trying to dump it and get their $$ back out. Don't let the price scare you away. Just be thorough in checking it out and get lots of professional opinions - it's well worth the slight investment.
Good luck!
Agree as well that that paint is TOO shiny. Besides where did those turbo bumper thingies go that were on the 2001? If it was a lease you would assume they would still be there unless major front end damage was present.
Back in 2000, they were called Bellavia and I bought my Audi from them. They had great prices on new cars with no catches. My service experience there was neither fantastic nor dismal, just your regular slightly unhappy service experience. I've heard not great things from other people. Then for reasons I don't know, they "went out of business" and changed their name to Riverside. Mostly the same people are there. Not a good place for test drives as regards to location and friendliness...
I don't think they are a large porsche place. They may have a few in inventory.
Hope this helps...
First call 800 porsche and get the history from the vin. And get all the options. Then trace it from the selling dealer and dealer that did any of the warrantee work.
Paint looks too shiny? Wow, that's a skeptical view. I'd like to think even on a lease that you are a proud owner of a high end turbo. I just paid only slightly more for my 01 with only a few less miles. Seems like a good price and I expect them not to negotiate much. Have a body shop check it out, and pay a pcar dealer for a ppi.
there is n ot much we can do from here.
get it done professionally and secure.
go there.
take the car to a P-dealer
do every possible research you can.
and one other thing.many cars are being advertised as full service history i.e. services on time, records of "everything" etc. who tells you that there is also some other history of the car which is missing but not affect the full on time service history?
be carefull
price to me is not that low by the way.
How are you going to use the TT? Daily Driver? Or occassional use? I would ask the current TT owners where and when the major mantainance kicks in and whether this one has had it. Obviously factoring this cost into the price. Interestingly, buying from a delaer adds a premium but I don't know what buying from an AUDI delaer adds. The market is relatively soft on the TT now and I would suggest a private sale of a car under warranty with exactly what you want in it/colors etc ( if this is it then go for it after the PPI.) If the car is list at 75K on the net you may get 1-2 K more but not likely more....
Best

Thanks everyone. I will look into it per your suggestions.
I am thinking about trading my '04 cab for an '01 TT, but haven't made up my mind on much at all except that I don't want to add more than about $10k on the trade (that's why the 75k sticker on the '01 TT cought my eye). Thanks again.
